M8GC is launching latter this year as per interview BMWBlog published with product manager. Interesting that US launch is late September where as Germany/rest of world is November 2019 market launch.

I did NOT expect it to have a different wheelbase to the G30, this will mean it should have more leg room than the G30.
8 Coupe = 2822mm 5 Sedan = 2975mm 8 GC = 3023mm I think this means it designed to be quite a bit more luxurious for 4 people than the 5 is (combined with the centre console of course) I'm even more surprised that the rear arches are 30mm wider than the Coupe and they have increased the track by 30mm. I guess this means it will be easier to fit wider rear tyres on the GC as well

Car looks great, good for those who really want the GC version my only complaint would be the little weird cut off where the back door meets the rear wheel arches you can see they had to make some form of compromise there the flat part line that goes over the whole wheel arch cuts of at the door.
Other then that great looking car would definitely love to own one if my wallet would allow me. But right now my wallet is looking at me and saying "In ya dreams pal"

Following the path of 6er production timeline, they really are the newest generation of 6 series with 8 series badge I think they totally used the whole 8er to boost the sales of previous 6 series line Stupid bmw

It's looks exactly like the normal M8 coupe. So not flared wheel arches.

Where the 6GC still had a pretty cramped rear compartment compared to the 7er and was realistically more like a 5er 4 door coupé in the rear, this 8GC has grown +7cm compared to the 6GC and the rear compartment doesn't seem to pale much now in comparison to the 7er in terms of leg room, so the 8GC is definitely more like a 7er 4 door coupé now. But consistent with this is also the huge weight... |
