I recently received my brand new set of TTE 920+ Hybrid Turbos with optional Heat Shielding upgrade. These were manufactured using a set of brand new OEM Turbos (not used cores). I have decided to go with custom full frame turbos on my build so my loss is your gain here. Save yourself $2,400 (with optional heat shielding, shipping and Euro exchange these were $8,000). No waiting two months sending in used your used turbos or waiting on them to purchase new OEM cores. Shipping included to anywhere in lower 48 or Canada. Can provide copy of original receipt to buyer as well for any future warranty coverage with TTE.

I’ve looked at the website for these and it doesn’t seem to say if these can be dropped in or if tuning changes need to be made to remove faults. Do you know?

What tuning hardware were you going to use to run these on your car?

Do you know if they will have more lag or other downsides to running them vs stock?

I’m interested but hesitant.

You will definitely want to get a tune for these to be able to take advantage of the power they are capable of. My local shop custom tunes so they were going to be the ones tuning for these. I’m not sure if Bootmod3 (BM3) offers any off the shelf tunes for hybrid turbo setups that would allow you to tune yourself. Any reputable BMW tuner shop should be able to tune even or offer remote tuning services (assuming your DME’s are unlocked). Should be no noticeable difference on lag from stock setup as these are still relatively small in the turbo world as they can only go so large using the stock housing cores. If you plan to make some significant power then eventually the original stock turbos will limit you and turbo upgrades are the next step. Tuning safely depending on any other supporting mods is definitely the key to making sure reliability is still achieved.
