Battery charger for 840d in UK

Can anyone in the UK recommend a compatible battery charger/conditioner for my 840d? My old CTEK CTE-MXS5.0 5A charger won't work, presumably because it's not specifically for cars with stop/start tech, although it worked perfectly well on my last car, a 2016 640i which had start/stop.
It looks like the CTEC CT5 start/stop will be fine. Can anyone confirm or offer alternative suggestions?
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

Have you tried it with the bonnet shut? My NOCO Genius 5 wouldn’t work on my 330i or 840i with the bonnet open - presumably something to do with current being drawn by heaven knows what with the bonnet open. Works fine with the bonnet shut.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a try before I buy a new charger.

Even with the bonnet on the catch? My Genius 5 seems to work ok like that.

Never tried it - I just close the bonnet, making sure the charger cable isn’t going to get mashed.

On both my 3 Series it was easy to drop the mains plug through the engine bay so it exited under the car…not so easy on the 8!

I just run the cord up the windshield side. Lots of room to close the hood fully.
