You don’t like my thread ? Lots of good info here.
Unless my dealer can get an extra timely slot for a 24, I may do the 23 I’m looking at and thread stays open for all to enjoy lol 😊

If the 23 is exactly what you want, a bit cheaper and available now, I'd probably go that way.

Just found out loyalty of $1500 is only if leased or financed so that's now out on the '23 in my case. Did a lot of # crunching and the net diff purchasing between the 23 and 24 is about 6200, and the difference in estimated resale should be about 2000-3000 (total of ~$9000) more for the 24. The biggest difference is the 23 has the 811Ms which we luv but reg black leather, while the 24 has the orange/black which I like and the wifey doesn't as much, and it has 813M's but bicolored so there not quite as busy as the 813's in all silver. I think the forum needs someone here that owns a BMW dealership or wants to buy one...how about this?

I buy my cars as well, but I finance a small amount for a couple of months to get the $1500 loyalty cash. I talk to the finance guy directly about it. They not only don't care, but they'll lead you through the process. If you finance a portion of your car, you get a discount and your dealer gets an incentive. If you payoff the loan before three months, the dealer loses his incentive. So payoff the loan after the third month, you get your $1500, the dealer gets his incentive, and everyone's happy. I financed $5k for three months last year. Got my $1500.

Now if I owned a BMW store and people here knew about, Id have zero new car gross. Id be a non profit center 1500 to some make sense and others say they dont want the inquiry or the trade line reporting (yep people are like that). So either car is not your perfect perfect but I think you are leaning to the 2023? Faster gratification?

I'm going to get the final #'s on the 23 tomorrow and will go from there, also trying to get the wifey on board with the 24's Orange Crush interior (she's a cool lady and will do whatever I want, but nonetheless...) Right now this car thing has me exhausted as I'm trying to run my business, deal with major real estate stuff, and remain reasonably sane at the same time lol Appreciate all the input and advice from all here...THANK YOU!

Somewhat shady but guessing they are CYAing the loyalty $ but even if you pay off in 3 months you should be well ahead of the $1500 loyalty against the interest for 3 months. Just put $ down for 80% if not more and finance the rest for a 48 to 60 month loan. The interest on the 3 months will still keep you in the green from the loyalty cash. |

There is no charge back for loyalty as that is a factory FS to customer payout and the dealer gets none of it. All the dealer does is get reimbursed for the deduction in the sale. They get that no matter what the time period of an early payoff is or isnt. BMWFS only has chargebacks at 90 days on reserve's made via apr bumps or lease bumps but not on flats. Reserve is when there is a markup on the lease mf or retail apr... EG: contract rate is 7.99 but FS buys the deal at 6.99; the dealer makes 100 basis points of the margin but then there is a split of that certain dollar amount (I can tell you more but its boring). The same works for the lease- EG buyrate at .00185 and dealer contracts it at .00225 (max FS bump is .0004). The dealer gets the margin times a split in reserve. Both of these instances are subject to an early payoff which can lead to a chargeback on their net monthly reserve statement when or if that occurs. Flats are unique small fixed dollars (based on amf) allocated to each contract if the buy and contract rates are equal. These are not charged back for early pays. BMWFS has a weird ass flat payout--- 5 dollars for every 1000 dollars of amount financed so if one finances 100k, and there is not markup on rate, the flat to the dealer is 500 bucks. Ok back to our regulary scheduled program

To OP main question, I’d wait for a 2024 which no doubt when arrives we should have an even softer market for the M8.
Paying cash I’d want a 1 year model newer which is worth more. And as mentioned I expect much bigger discounts by the time your 2024 arrives

Discounts on 24's where I live are not happening, but I'd imagine over the summer it might be different.
