How many miles when you did your 1st oil change?

As the title says, just curious as to what the average is when people with 335i's made their first oil change.

~4,500, the oil and filter did not look that bad. Needless to say the car "felt" better after the change. Of course that may be all in my head.

I'm sitting around 4k, and I'm just waiting for my oil sample collection kit to come in to do the change. I'm planning on 5k intervals....

You might have been shocked if you had your oil analyzed. Previous posts from members who waited 15k to change their oil and then had the oil analyzed showed evidence of excessive wear. Its just not smart to let ANY type of oil in for more than 10K miles. Even at 10k it is probably to long even for synthetics. And don't tell me BMW knows best. They don't.

As varied as I thought it would be.
FWIW, I did my first one at 2000 miles on my 335i sedan, and recently did my first on my 335i Coupe at 1600 miles.
Then every 5K with 100% synthetic after that.

I always do one at 1000 miles, then every 3000 after that. Always Mobil1 after the first 4000. Ive never been down any oil, or had a car burn any. Its cheap insurance.

The current milage on my car is ~2200 and it will go in for an annual oil change in a month.... so it will most likely have less than 2500 miles at the time of its 1st oil change.....

I know..... I need to drive it more often.........

Every 3k with mobil 1 is really overkill!

I changed mine at 2k miles and plan to change it every 7k miles after.

Did one at 1500 miles, after break-in for piece of mind. After this I'll follow the recommended timing.

I would highly recommend changing oil sometime in the first 1000 miles. Every new car I have ever had I've done this and the oil looked liked it had shiny glitter in there. Those metal filings are not something you want to have grinding away for 15k miles! 2nd time, no glitter effect.
