8 series was introduced almost 12 months ago at Le Mans and BMW took this long for the '1st edition' to appear? A marketing campaign ploy to boost sales numbers; how long do these units sit on dealership showroom floors? Not impressed with Frozen Barcelona Blue nor the white interior, will be a b*tch to keep the exterior and interior clean. No thanks.

Did you ceramic the exterior? The interior will last depending on the use. A daily driver seat, 3 months. And passenger seat with the occasional person in the seat, 6 months. Dashboard, 9 months.

I'm having the whole works:
Exterior Stealth PPF
Ceramic paint, wheels and glass
Ceramic interior
Tints
K40

And I had my guy take off the stupid little "spoiler" that's on the trunk.

I ceramic coated my 8 exterior and its proving to be great. My X6 exterior was still strong after 4 years. I did the 8 myself, the X6 was a pro. The difference was the polish stage and I found that I left some ceramic reside that took a little work to remove in a very few places.

The Frozen Barcelona color requires a special perspective to appreciate (perhaps I am lacking this perspective). Still - it's very unique.

Is that glue residue from the rear spoiler still on the trunk?

Won't ceramic coating give the frozen matte color a shine?

Personally, I can't comprehend paint protection film and ceramic coating, just drive the vehicle. But with leasing, you have a new coat of paint every 3 years.

PS multi BMW M engineers have told me to avoid frozen colors, it looks great in the show room, but is a challenge to maintain. I'm sure that the paint film and coating will affect the matte finish.

No, there is no residue. That is excess solution that he uses to apply the PPF.

No, ceramic itself does not make a car shinier. Gloss paint already has a clear coat shine to it and the ceramic coating enhances that. He uses ceramic from GTech. The ceramic is just a coating that protects the paint.

And PPF on a car is just a barrier on the paint and everything else. You still have to take car of a car that has PPF on it the same as you would a car that doesn't. With ceramic on the PPF, it's less to no maintenance.

I have been well educated in the process and protect my investments.

Water from cleaning / wet sanding
the spoiler is less than an inch wide.
