I thought the 8 series was dead at this point, I guess the changes were already basically developed when they killed it off

That thing is a rocket. Curious to see what the LCI looks like.

Does anyone know the long term plan for the 8? I know likely not, but I thought I'd ask. They got rid of the coupe for a year, they dropped the price 20k. Is it going to be here long term? I'd like to get one in a few years. When would the M8 coupe LCI be?

I am pretty sure this will be a 2023 not a 2022 model. As you have been able to order the 2022s for a while now….

A lot of people assumed they discontinued the coupe and vert in the US for 2021 for lack of sales, but in fact, it was simply one of the first off this list due to supply-chain issues resulting from COVID. Sure sales were low and many cars sat on lots for 12+ months, but it was really more of a pricing issue... too high for a car that just wasn't quite exotic nor luxurious enough, and the revised pricing may help address that.

It only worked well for a minority of us, and even then, it took something like a $30k discount off MRSP to reduce the cap cost enough to make you even look seriously due to the poor residual as well. Granted, when my lease it up in 2 years I'll likely end up with another one unless the G8x CS(L) happens to move me more, but only because I know now what I was missing.

Rumor has it that after the current 7 year cycle, this is it for the 8 series coupe/vert. Not sure if the Gran Coupe is sticking around. How BMW is going the EV route and how this didn't sell until the deep discounting/price reduction— tells the story of this ending.

The 2021 model year for the M8 coupe/convertible was skipped due to the cars sitting on the lots, as the chip shortage didn't affect BMW until earlier this year.

The 8 Gran coupe is NOT going anywhere. But the coupe/Vert this MIGHT be the last Cycle Of It. I'm waiting for Bmw to show or see any indication of a next 8 coupe/vert with heavyyyy camo. I'm not talking about this body platform. Im talking about the next. ( for you ppl who can't understand )

When I went to go place my order for my M8 GC I could've picked up an M5 Comp or ordered an M5 CS. When I was presented with the options my response to them was simple.... it'll still look like a 5 series. There's something about the 8 series lines that are just lust worthy.

Finally hit the magical 1200miles today and looking forward to playing.
