so i dropped off my car this morning at the dealership for the update and my SA and i were talking about the M5. he said that the dealership had one for 3 hours and then it sold for- 20K OVER MSRP. the sale of the car was 105K....thats just sick.

Yep, I remember when the MB dealer over here got the first batch of C55 AMG's they had them marked 10 to 15k over sticker, months later they had an SLR for something like $100k over sticker, and it sold! More for the second hand buyer being smart enough to wait it out and pay the lower price.

Just heard the EXACT same story on Saturday here in Scottsdale when ordering my 330i. First one came in, was already sold for +$20k. Must be nice...

Are they nuts? Why?

Here a new M5 and a new M6 drive around since last august.
Order a new Silverstone M5 and you can drive this weekend(my dealer)

BTW M5 costs about 150000 US $ here....

im actually beginning to see quite a number of m5s in the North east. Then again, pretty much every other car here is a bmw or mercedes.

Some of the people buying M5's dont care about the extra change. Its just 20K to them.

As long as they keep buying em, ill keep buying em 10 years after theyve upgraded..

The waiting time here in Europe for a M5 is 2 years!! So a lot of people don't want to wait that long, so they charge 'a little' extra for it..

My boss just picked his up too....same deal. 107k. But man, it is a beautfiul car. It's the new gray color too...with black leather interior. I'll take some pictures sometime next week and post them.
