Loving this side profile. Can't wait to see the production version. Wondering if this is slated to be a competitor to the LC500.

It's very interesting in the metal. I was invited to the unveiling by BMW at Lago di Como in May.

The Airbreather was the one thing that really caught my attention, functional and the car only has two lines that force air down the side.

As whole the design is a refreshing clean-sheet design and an excellent starting point for the return of the 8 Series.

The 8 Series Coupe and Cabriolet really only has one direct competitor within the segment, it's the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet.

Toyota "Lexus" LC500 is an indirect competitor to BMW and Mercedes-Benz within this segment.

The Lexus is about $100k...I believe this car will be closer to $150k

The m8 may be closer to that, I can't see the 840/850 being that expensive

Did the displays work or are they dummies?

I like the idea of the individually temperature-controlled air vents.

the instrument panel and gauges on new bmws are dope.

concept looks very nice, hard to tell the size - hope its not too massive. 6er is big enough.

Yeah, pretty sure its not an insult to say the car looks like Aston Martin. Its like saying "your girlfriend reminds me of Miranda Kerr..." or whatever. )))

It looks nice and sleek, better than some of the more recent concepts. The grill is a bit much though.

I personally would like to see BMW stick to more sleeker exterior and interior designs with a more aerodynamic look and feel to it, then some disjointed modern design.

I dont consider i8 as flagship since it is not bmws fastest car, nor its best handling, and its electric so kinda gimmicky. I think 8 or M8 will be more of a flagship

Yeah they should morph BMW i & ///M and stuff a twin-turbo V8 in that bad boy combined w/eDrive , or make it 100% Electric with an eMotor at every corner.
