If it looks like this it could be an interesting option.

Do you mean they're more comfortable? The new AMG MSA platform should be a winner.

Agree especially if the SL63 has a $115K base price as estimated. Somehow I doubt that will be reality when released but either way it should be cost competitive with a M8/M8C but perhaps not so much with a M850i.

Looks like we are seeing the last of the ICE V8 vehicles......

The SL and new AMG GT Coupe look nice. Guess time will tell if they drive as good as they look

Very excited for this vehicle, as well as the news on the 73e powertrain, especially since this will be an AMG designed vehicle along with the next GT. I have a feeling they will keep the GT a coupe next generation and maybe make the SL the roadster counterpart.

Very interesting, a lot of AMG Project One design inspiration too.

Latest on the new SL from D-land...the video doesn't give much on the exhaust (too much background noise), but the coolest part to me was entering MB's gated research/T&D center...how cool would it be to have a looksee in there?

Front reminds me of a Z4/Supra. I'll pass.

They should never have stopped making S-coupes

Had two of them, amazing vehicles...wish the M850/M8 would have borrowed a few items from them that are just not available on the 8's.

Like the lack of a B-pillar or the extender arm that comes out to hand you the seatbelt
I do miss the massage function and even the air fragrance that many make fun of...

I assume you are referring to the coupe rendering/clay model?
The SL will look nothing like it though.

Hope it retains the killer looks from current GT roadsters and drive like them but with AWD, regular tranny and no transaxle that won't be the case.

If the weight stays in the GT range (3500-3600lbs), then the SL73e should not only be quick (800+hp, AWD) but also fun to drive...

That car will be over $200k though.

Agree on lack of B-pillar and the extender, also miss the acoustic glass, glass roof and the cabin ionizer.

EDIT: I also miss the ability to raise and lower the car via the air suspension, came in very handy on steep driveways

For filling in for the S-coupe, I'd like to see a fixed hard top and AWD. Most likely won't happen.

Continental GT > SL

Continental GT > SL
I'm not really sure this is filling the shoes of the S-Coupe, as the car is being designed in-house by AMG and will share similarities with the GT. I'm thinking of it more as a the roadster version of the GT, and AMG has been saying that this SL will be much more dynamic and athletic than prior generations, unlike the S-Coupe which was primarily aimed towards luxury with no sporty intentions. AWD is a possibility for the 63 or 73e variants.

As for the Bentley GT, I sure would hope its better than the SL considering the much larger price and higher brand hierarchy.

MB was/has been trying to say the all new SL would accomodate both SL and SCoupe customers once they decided to kill the mighty SCoupe/Cabs...I agree with stein-325i assessment.

I think it will be like a lux, longer, and updated version of the GTC, and in full AMG guise will be a brute...hearing ~800 hp for the top version
