I'm with you on that.... V8's or bigger until I can no longer ever buy one. lol The sound, the power, is all there. Look at the price of the V8 M3's now a days and people thought BMW was crazy for doing that. lol

For all the reasons so many others have already stated, i keep my opinion relatively "short & sweet" - keep your car - it's beautiful, and I assume it does virtually everything you ever wanted it to do when you made the purchase !!

I'll keep my M8C until they are scarce. They will be. Then the price will reflect it's real value.
The price currently is only a problem for those not keeping them.
The market is taking advantage of those who are undecided and non committed.
Or people with too much money too spend. They see ya coming.

I miss drivers cars. I began my automotive journey in an Integra Type R (that was my first track car in the early 2000's) and moved into S2000. Chasing drivers cars, I followed suit into the BMW brand which led me to the E36 and E46 M3's. Now those cars all go for a premium (still on the hunt for a nice E39 M5 as we speak!).

The industry then went to meet emissions/efficiency demands (as they should) at the expense of driver involvement and feel. BMW's had gotten big, ugly, gimmicky and too far from the principles that set it apart from other brands.

When I climbed back into my M850, it had a little bit of that spark. The body control for a big big heavy car was relatively good, the steering was much better than the other garbage that BMW put out (modern BMW steering was closer to my old Prius). I doubt the TT V8 engine will really achieve critical acclaim, the reality of hybrid V8's with the low end torque-fill will make the motors feel more NA bringing that response back. Now the cars those hybrid engines go into will drive like absolute garbage too - I read somewhere that the new M5's going to be 5400 lbs.?

From a business standpoint, it was absolutely the right move for BMW but it leaves much to be desired for enthusiasts who have experienced the older analog cars. Change is inevitable but many of us are fortunate to have lived in an era where we were able to experience some great cars.
