It's awesome and very helpful if you are driving on roads with frequent speed limit sign changes. First you set it up in iDrive. You get two different variables to set. Variable #1 is MPH over PSL for PSL's above 40MPH. Variable #2 is MPH over PSL for PSL's 40MPH and lower. You can choose anywhere from +0MPH over PSL to +10MPH over PSL. Scenario 1: You are driving and your car recognizes a PSL change from 45MPH to 55MPH. The car will automatically (as in no button presses from driver) adjust the cruise control to 55MPH + your preset iDrive variable. Scenario 2: You are driving and your car recognizes a PSL change from 55MPH to 35MPH. The car will automatically (as in no button presses from driver) adjust the cruise control to 55MPH + your preset iDrive variable. Hope this makes sense! Kind of elaborate to explain in text.

I've been slacking on getting to the next video/code update. Any requests for a next video? Perhaps this will help with my lack of motivation!

Perhaps LANE ASSIST and the other advanced stuff that goes with it. I coded that already on mine and posted the information in another thread (regarding the changes to be made).

I had expected the below feature to appear as well, alas it didn’t. Do you use it much? I tend to always set the max allowable distance (which is the best way to avoid stone chips)....additionally the system automatically reduces the distance when in stop and start traffic, so, I was wondering how the feature is utilized |

If your coder followed my original coding for aSLA, or picked it up from a 3rd party such as trojanlaw's spreadsheet, then it won't have any of the new 07/2020 features, such as auto adjustment of distance, prevent undertaking, highway exit assistant, emergency lane formation, or traffic-light assistant. WRT auto-adjustment it's hard to tell if it works or not. It doesn't adjust the distance (1-4 bars) graphically on my car, but what I have noticed is that it seems to automatically increase the distance between my car and the one in front, if there is bad weather like heavy rain. To the point that it 'seems' like it's using 4 bars of distance (speed ratio adjusted) when the display is only showing 1 bar. I could be imagining it and its not doing anything. Only way to be sure is if someone has it native on their MY 21 G20/G05 and can validate my observation. All the other 07/2020 features work as expected so I'd be surprised if its a coding issue. |

The two speed offsets for me was the key enhancement as most of my driving are country roads....I’m fine to have it stick to PSL in a 20mph & 30mph zone however, I wanted to be 10mph under the 60mph posted limit as many of the country roads are not safe at that speed.... Since I don’t have the WRT auto adjust feature I can’t comment on it but, it seems quite logical that it would behave in the manner you describe.....since I travel the same route every day I know precisely at what points assisted steering hands back control to me....I have noticed that during bad whether ( rain or fog) the system becomes far more conservative in taking control of the steering.....it doesn’t deactivate the driver assistance function entirely (in the way it would do for really dirty sensors or cameras) it appears to adjust the thresholds where it activates/deactivates particularly as it relates to bend radius. |

These two bends are how I can tell the status of the assisted steering functionality. When I first got the car it had Istep 11/18. The system would approach them at 60mph (one of them has a black and white chevron sign ) and just before arrival it would deactivate steering assistance which required me to slow the car down and steer myself. When I upgraded to 11/19 it would slow down in anticipation of the corner and then deactivate steering. With the OTA Istep earlier this year the car was able to slow down and steer itself through both bends. When the weather is bad, the car still slows down but, it hands back steering control to me. Btw, the bends are a lot tighter than the image suggests

Yeah I've noticed big improvements with bend management throughout the releases, to the point it can predict and deal with nearly all bends now.
There is one that is almost a 360 and it totally fails that one day! Refreshing that someone actually want to reduce the speed offset. Most complain +10mph isn't enough, but I guess it comes down to use case, A roads vs motorways |

This is a great thread. Would love to get the coding details for HBA/VLD even if the videos aren't done
