2023 M850i Convertible in Production

Just heard from my dealer that the 2023 M850i convertible that I specced to him back in February entered production August 2. He says it will complete production August 9. Aventurin Red Metallic with black wheels. They were able to add the Bowers and Wilkinson sound system. Finally!

Very nice choice in color and wheels. It's what I have on my M8 Comp Coupe.

Well done sir!

AR is the best of the standard colors offered right now imo. I am however biased. Good luck with the rest of the process.

I absolutely love my '22 M850 Convertible, but I will say this: with the top down and in sport setting, you won't (and shouldn't) be listening to the B&W system. The engine exhaust is music enough!!!

An absolute sleeper just couldn't push my wife over the agreement on the color (regtof it being my daily driver) as couldn't get the 2019 sample out in the sunlight. Dealer wouldn't move it off the showroom floor with their incandescent lighting which is far from a real world experience.

Even with a coupe when my wife is in the car and audio volume at 20% or less the actual exhaust becomes the soundstage of my enjoyment. That's Sport Individual with chassis/suspension on Comfort, steering on Sport and engine on Sport Plus. The latter is the key as opens up the exhaust valves and operates the engine to equivalent of full Sport Plus.

Now Awaiting Carrier

So it looks to me that actual assembly took about three or four days to complete. The BMW site now reports my car is awaiting a carrier. A long wait, then rapid progress.

Car arrived at Bremerhaven on 9/10. Genius line told me today that current shipping delays mean it will sit there for 6-8 weeks! As it’s a “priority 1” it will likely be the lower end of that time frame.

According to the web site tonight, my car is now “in transit.” Tomorrow I will call the Genius line to see if I can learn more.

Congrats! A genius should be able to tell you the ship's name and its eta. Your car will likely be dropped off in Brunswick, GA.

That ship has sailed (heh heh). Car is onboard the Orion Highway and is scheduled to arrive in Georgia October 10!

My car was processed through Brunswick remarkably quickly. It arrived at the port on a Tuesday morning, was on a truck Thursday morning and at my WPB dealership Thursday afternoon. The dealer prepped it and delivered it Thursday night.

It was the end of the month, so that may have made a difference, especially with the dealer prep and delivery part.

Hopefully, you'll have similar luck.

Congrats!! I'm currently on dot 3 with a scheduled production week of 9 OCT. Here's hoping that things go as smoothly for me once my vehicle actually hits the line. Good luck and can't wait to see pics.

Car actually arrived in Brunswick on the 11th. Today dealer told me it won’t leave the VPC until the 15th. And it won’t arrive in South Florida until the 19th. Waited ten months; another 6 days won’t kill me.

Try to lock in your trade allowance, used car prices are falling.

I happened to call a Genius the morning my car left Brunswick for S Florida. The Genius told me that it would take four days from then till delivery (I think that's the schedule baked into their system). Instead, the car got to the dealer in WPB early in the same afternoon (it's only a four hour drive from Brunswick) and my dealer prepped it and delivered it that night. So fingers crossed that you'll experience something similar.

Got it!

Picked it up at the dealer last night. Very happy! B&W sound a big improvement over the HK in my traded-in 2019. More pix later.
