From what I read also on the article, the M8 had a tune and an aftermarket induction system.

That Hellcat had a nice launch on a well prepped surface. In the real world they are wheel spinning machines from a dig.

From a roll I would expect the HC to win (stock v stock)

Agreed but from a pure esthetics standpoint you won't find me in a HC whatsoever. The HC is definitely a beast but I just can't get into the retro aesthetics whatsoever.

Oh dont get me wrong, I wouldnt buy one either but in the context of this discussion I did want to opine in regards to a roll race.

Although I did see a well put together HC the other day and when it took off- my lord!!!!!!!

They are fast but terrible to launch without a prepped surface and drag slicks. The interior is garbage and the seats look like they came out of a 70s cigar lounge. Hard pass for me. Also the M8 coupe would be even faster as it is lighter.

My M8 Competition with its DME tune, and other mod's is near 800hp at the crank. I believe I can beat a Hellcat in the 1/4 mile. They have a difficult time hooking and this is where the all wheel drive is a huge advantage. I'll be going to the track in a couple of weeks and I hope to find a Hellcat.

I have an M8, too. What do you base your assertion on—numbers from a dyno or DME or performance data?

Aside: that M8 was tuned? With what… a guitar and a metronome. Those are stock numbers… even with an Atlanta DA, that's a solid meh!
