Looking online at the M850 convertibles. Many of you have mentioned getting anywhere from 20-40 thousand off. If anyone can point me to the dealers who are offering nice discounts, I'd appreciate it. In Iowa, it's retail price only.

The $20K to $40K discounts on M850i coupes or convertibles is long gone as that applied to the 2019 model year. Starting with the 2020s they were limited allocation as the sole focus was on the 840i, GCs as well as the M8 coupes and convertibles. Thus, at this point for pure new car retail you're looking at either a 2021 with at least an $18K discount to make it attractive against a 2022 that has an overall lower $13K MSRP. Either way assuming dealers are likely to negotiate $5K off of MSRP on the 2022s you end up in the same price range.

2022 M850's convertibles are $13,000 less than a 2021?

They definitely should be given the MSRP reduction on the 2022s. Personally I've never built a convertible via the configurator but as an example my fully loaded 2020 M850i coupe built to spec with a 2022 is a $13K price drop. Considering there was literally no price change from the 2020s to 2021s then in essence it confirms the overall price drop on the 2022 8-seires discussed on several threads in the forum.

Super excited to join the M8 family - just wanted share my experience. I never thought I would steer away from the love of my CLS 550 but my heart was stolen buy the gorgeous body and sound of this car. Placed an order for 2022 M850i vert on 4/9 and was told it would be 4-5 months. I called to get a status update today and to my surprise, the car is already at the port. Original production date was 6/8 and even the SA was shocked it’s a month ahead of schedule. TBII with IW/NB interior and moonlight black top. I guess the quicker turnaround softened the blow of not getting much of a discount. Received military incentive but that’s it. I’m sure I’ll get over it as soon as I get to sit behind the wheel.

Welcome to the club. You'll love the top down life as much as I do. In my opinion, you won't find a better 4 seater convertible in the world than the m850i.

I own several cars now, all different; and some with 2 seats are nice for very small doses. But you won't find a better 4 seater top down convertible.

I can confirm from a recently attached quote from two dealerships in my area; that the new builds are available and discounts about $11,000 below what I paid in 2019 for the same car.
