I'm sure it's plenty wide, but I can't help feeling it needs width when I look at these pics. Guessing it's the lack of bodywork between the headlights and wheel arch.

Also, that rear indent for the number plate seems ridiculously large. Lastly, the rear seems almost as happy as the previous generation Mazda 3's front-end, yet a lot more ominous. Really curious to see what the rear bumper looks like with the boot open.

Hmmm looks ok, the back end is a bit of a disappointment as some have said.

We'll need to see some better photo angles.

Is the rear bottom CFRP? The rear vents are unnecessary. I bet this all looks better in other colors let alone real photos.

I agree. the dark bottom sections don't transfer well in 2D.

I also hope that they make them body color in production.

looks like they're trying to do way too much with it.... front end is not so bad but the back looks complicated, cluttered, & definitely not appealing. very lexus-y

I think it looks kinda nice unlike some people here. However the back end looks like it's giving birth to an AMG GTS, just like the i8 was with a 991 Porsche 911.

Why show us what you can do with the gorgeous prototype and then do something completely different. The back of the prototype and this picture are in no way related. Lights are completely different. Cut out of plates is different. Both of which look like Bmw and Lexus have had over past few years. I never liked the back of the 6 series and so loves the 8. This looks like a 6 from behind. Missed opportunity to differentiate a model in the evolutionary line up.

So they dishonored the M6 and 635CSi with the last two awful 6ers, and now they're circling back around to poop on the 850CSi. Guess it's just a matter of time until they make a new M1 to poke that legend in the eye too.

Damn, that's ugly. Ever since we got that 3.0 CSL 'Hommage', BMW design has taken a nose dive. Yikes.

BMW can really learn a lesson from Benz. Their designs are now integrated, organic, and beautiful.

This thing all blacked out would be fire as hell. In white I'm not such a fan, those smoked tail lights don't rly fit. The chrome as well is slightly iffy but as I said before, just imagine this dechromed and in all black.
