That color is hideous not doing this design any favors . Will have to see in better color but overall loving the shape.

I have no horse in this race since I don't have a 6GC nor do I plan on buying an 8GC but I think the former 6GC looks better. This modified Hoffmeister kink isn't good and makes the transition to the trunk look rather chunky. I do think the 8er coupe looks good, though.

Looks nice but they just carried over the coupe's interior. It's too simple looking for the price in my opinion.

There will be a sizable price gap between the two models.
Yeah the 7 series will cost more. The competitor to the M850 GC is the M760i. 4 doors for 4 doors. M-Performance for M-Performance.

Because of the expensive V12 in the M760i, the cost will be much closer compared to the M8 GC ZCP.

From the poor range that Jaguar, Audi and others have from larger capacity batteries, I wouldn't hold out much hope. Tesla has a massive lead in efficiency from their motor design and is starting to use the even more efficient Model 3 motors in the Model S and X, so the gap will get even bigger.

Now the one potential outlier might be the Taycan, assuming it doesn't have the pathetic range of the eTron. Plus the Taycan will be better looking and significantly cheaper than an EV 8er could hope to be.

WOW! The coupe does nothing for me, but this...THIS is stunning! Looks beautiful and better suited as a 4-door.

I've always loved the 6GC and considered it the best Bmw made. It does look too big and almost like a ferry compared to this though

So this navy/ivory interior seems to be the Individial launch combo, but pretty sure the iconic tartufo/ivory combo from the 6GC will also be available

well of course.. Were you expecting a completely different interior?

has BMW ever designed a different interior between coupe and sedan?

I knew the interior would be a carry over, but still held out some hope they'd spruce it up.

Need to be clear, this IS the f06 new version but with an 8 in front of it, which I assume is for better branding and historic value.

This is exactly what the new 6's would and should have looked like - its just called something else, renamed after a specialized edition from 20 years ago which still kicks ass.

Yeah but BMW is a whole century ahead in terms of coach build/design/quality. No Tesla interior can touch what BMW is doing here. Their build quality is still spotty so they have a long ways to go to becoming a real car company. But they are pushing BMW and that I do like. Competition is always good.

I'm saddened. This is so far removed from the prototypes and is all the worse for it. It's not ugly by any means but my M6 GC was better looking to me. I may have to reconsider (unless the in-person and/or M-accoutrements make it look less like a fat Stinger or last year's Panamera; the rear 3/4 side-profile looks like a Lexus LS... none of these comparisons are complimentary). In fact, I'm more than a bit saddened, call me thoroughly disappointed... sigh.
