THANK YOU!!
The OP asked one question, and this whole thread delved into talking about pulling fuses. Many of us just wanted to know if this is the case. So now I'll move forward with the update. And frankly, even if my "sport" engine sound is gone, I have an Fi exhaust coming soon and will be keeping those valves open anyhow!

No error messages on the iDrive after you pulled the fuses out! Where are the fuses located?

Here's a question:
Even if I get this goddamn 11/23 upgrade and I lose "sport" engine sound, are those of you with that update still getting the burbles and pops when driving in sport+ mode?

I get them in every mode, it’s just more frequent in Sport/Sport+ because of the frequent engine braking holding RPMs.

I don't get this version 11/23.30 versus 11/23.50
Where does one get this 11/23.30 version? Mine being offered is 11/23.50

I’ve lived in the software world and that end number is what’s known as a minor version number. Small refinements are made to the software resulting in incremented minor version numbers. The dealer installed mine as soon as it came out (Nov 2023) so it probably had a couple of revisions before it was released over the air, resulting in a .50 instead of .30.

So then the .50 release should not remove the sport engine feature since yours still have it!

I suppose it could have been some developer’s idea to take it away if you weren’t set to Sporty when the upgrade happened and to not even offer it on new vehicles going forward. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mine was always on sporty.

Not sure why you lost that feature considering your car is 2019. I just upgraded my car to 11/2023.50 and I still have the "sporty" feature in the iDrive. No issues at all...

It means you can drive in COMFORT mode with the exhaust in sports without needing to put the car into sport to get the flaps to open up. |

Managed to bring up the SPORTY mode on my M850i using bimmercode.
HEAND UNIT + EXPERT MODE + ENGINE SOUND tuned to ACTIVE FYI the SPORTY mode doesn't work with the ECO PRO mode, only with comfort. And there are no BANGS when in comfort, just the nice V8 sound which is enough. |
