Garage Door Opener
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Ordered an m850i convertible 2019 this morning, should be delivered on Tuesday. Excited, but I wanted to know if it comes with a garage door opener. I see it as a 'standard' option on the American spec (319 Universal garage-door opener) but I'm in the UK and know that's often not a standard thing over here. Anyone have any info? Many thanks. |

I've checked now - it's not standard. I ordered a brand new M5 F10 a few years back and it was an option - only about £150 but really, really handy for me. Not something that's available in the UK they tell me now. Ideally I'd like the garage to detect when I'm speeding down the road towards the house and it to open like Batman's waterfall...

I too would love that option, but it is now for the NA market only.

The irony being I've been too lazy to set up the HomeLink solution adopted as the standard here in the US for garage door opener controllers by the auto manufacturers. I have it set up in my wife's X5 (and had it set up in my outgoing Lexus) but with the rolling codes on garage door openers it is 2 person setup or some running back and forth between the garage door unit and the car to configure within a small time window. Thanks for the reminder as now with COVID-19 I have no excuse but to get it done.
