Man if I had accidentally ordered an M4 in Malachite instead of Malachite dark, it would have been another epic Atlantis vs. Atlantic thread all over again... Good thing I didn't have the spare $80k laying around at the time! (p.s. still don't!) |

Very nice! Like the dark metallic green. Suits the M8C very well.

It looks like Tanzanite Blue, but in green: dark in the shade but lot of metallic sparks in the sun

really love it, but are you all sure that is the Malchite green?
But anyway, from the photos, at the sun is just gorgeous. Sporty and elegant at the same time. |

BMW M8 Competition: AFAIK BMW distinguishes two types of Malachite Green (both released in the 80s):
(source: here) BMW color code 179: "Akaziengrün" - "Acacia(s) Malachite Green" | 1985 color catalogue (source: here): BMW color code 205: "Dunkelgrün Metallic" - "Dark Green Metallic" - "Malachitgrün Metallic" - "Malachite Green Metallic" | 1989 and 2000 color catalogue (source: here and here): F90 M5 in Individual Malachite Green Metallic (BMW code 205): https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1503723 Compare with Porsche color code 2B5: "Malachite Green Metallic" | 2008 color catalogue (source: here and here):

Dear Artemis, thank you for your insight and research! I decided to go on the M8 Individual visualizer, and I think it has made everything clear. I'm not sure if the missing 'e' in the (German?) spelling on Malachit Green as opposed to Malachite Dark Green means anything different, but it's good to see that there are indeed two distinct colors here, and now I know I can safely order my favorite Malachite Dark when I happen onto a spare $150K USD.
