I agree, as this was a closed course race and while not 100% scientific I know that Id give up that for the F car sound... there is always something faster but better sounding is rather hard to find.

Agreed! I'm not so dead set on the sound. I'm not a fan of BMW's artificial crackles, but I'm not necessarily a fan of the Ferrari sound either (...at least not to the point where it would factor into my personal buying decision). I'll take perfomance over subjective sound any day of the week and twice on Sunday's.

Absolutely agree and sound is important or otherwise I'd have a Tesla S P100D in the garage as I type this. Loved the car after a couple of test drives but it was just lacking the soul of ICE aka the sound. For the beauty of naturally aspirated that was in my short list via the Lexus LC 500. I could not get enough of hearing the glorious naturally aspirated V8 and it sounded better the the M850i. In fact Lexus ingeniously uses membrane technology to allow the sound of the engine and exhaust into the cabin vs BMW's fabricated sound through the audio system.

Just too bad the Lexus didn't perform and had god awful tech inside the car. So end of the day I grin at the M850i just seeing it in the garage (doing a lot of that now thanks to COVID-19) and of course relish in it when behind the wheel.

Sounds nothing like an E60 M5 unless you put the Ferrari video in slo-mo perhaps.... the M5 would be either in limp mode or the sound of rod knocks would drown out the exhaust...:

The v12 in the DB11 AMR. Glorious sound and in my all time top 5. First is of course McLaren F1 BMW v12. The most fantastic sound ever.

Having a M340 I agree but that Ferrari sounds great in defeat! Imho they have the best exhaust of any car

Damn. I remember the days a GTR with 600+ hp would absolutely destroy everything. Now a stock M8 kills it. Curious how my trackhawk would do once i tune it. I see it beating the crap out of everything on the street with minimal upgrades.

I'm gonna have to disagree with this guy. Drive it like you stole it or what's the point? It's not as if a GT-R is a particularly luxurious car that's offering many other amenities outside of incredible performance, so why not take advantage of that?
