I used to use things like this to calibrate for the track. That way my foot wasn't always full bore to the floor ect... But it was a mechanical change of the roller for the throttle cable. I would not recommend this on the street.

When you have one of these you push the pedal down 20% and it tells the throttle body to open up say 35%.

It makes idiots think their car is more peppy when they could really just push the pedal down further.
Ohh I see. Gotcha.

I'd never put one on my M8. But I do have one in my Saab and I love. Makes a huge difference while driving. It's got more to do with how far you push the throttle. Yes and no and more. It's almost like adding some drive modes to my car. Allows you too decide how fast how soon. Anyway I love mine. Usually have the button in red.
It was cheap too. My Bimmer has 300 extra HP so it suits better with the Saab.
