Go to Pinarello "MyWay" and you can customize it almost any way you want. The downside is that it took 4 MONTHS to get!
Saw this jersey and thought of you and your F8.

The new frame arrived at Fedex Tampa today at 6:32pm. It's literally sitting less than 1 mile from my office.

I don't want to look to upgrade, and know a min will be ultegra components (though those cube bikes include dura ace for less than the big names like cannondale), and possibly disc brakes since I think they will be the norm in 2-3 years.

I ride a 50-51 cm frame. Depends on fit obviously. Short legs and long torso. I've ridden my friends woman caad12 52cm and it was terrible. I felt like I was launching over the top of the bars.

I guess my answer is to shop around and ride. That bmc is sexy! Haven't seen many locally. (Ct)
Yes, ride as many as you can, and read the bike reviews (Bicycling magazine has good ones). My other advice is:

This will seem odd coming from a guy riding a Wilier Zero7, but you don't have to spend big bucks on a bike. The gains from anything over $3k or so are minimal; I'm probably 2% faster on the Wilier than on my Litespeed. Specialized seems to have some good models in this price range.

I am a fan of Wilier BTW, and the Zero9 is supposed to be a great bike.

Ultegra should work great for you, I have an Ultegra gruppo with something like 30k miles on it and it still runs perfectly.

Completely agree on getting properly fit, that's a big deal - worth the money.

Cheers

Is the frame built to your body measurements ?
Legs vs upperbody size .

It's not custom, but the frame fits me. I'm not abnormally sized, pretty well proportioned between leg length and torso length.

Oh, that kind of custom fit. Yes, there is a shop here that does RETUL custom fitting which will be done.

https://www.retul.com/get-a-retul-bi...etul-bike-fit/

I thought you meant the frame being custom built. That DIVO bike I was looking at does all custom frame builds. But it didn't yet allow for 25mm tires. The size 540 Dogma F8's geometry works really well for me. I'm pretty sure I'll just need a 10mm shorter than standard stem and possibly a zero set back seat post. Hopefully the standard setback seat post will work since the zero setback one is $450!

I posted the video (custom fit) because your frame is not custom built . And the best is a custom frame built + custom fit .

Of course I know good material is/was never cheap but it's worth the investment .
I'm curious to see your new frame ...Loved my Colnagos back in time.
I destroyed a lot of money on the ground , fault was always the others in the peloton ! (no time to brake , and my scars are still visible)

If a factory bike has the same dimensions as custom bike would have, what's the difference?

This is the color scheme i went with.

For a pro frame (custom built) they set you on a adjustable frame for the length of your legs , torso (upperbody) and arms and look from there in the computer program to the most perfect aerodynamic riding position for your entire body .
From there the sizes (the height and length) of the frame are stored in the computer and send to the factory with your name to built your custom frame .
I heard the latest gen. works with a laser for the size of the frame .

Yeah...I really love the Pinarello red scheme and the Campagnolo wheels .
Good choise Sir , and congrats !

This is really true and something I missed by rattling off a bunch of bikes previously. With how good frame materials are at all ranges, you can get in at a lower price point with awesome components, which I'd rather spend on.

The expression from people when handing them a carbon road bike frame is always fun. lol

I've only unboxed it to have a look, but i'm super excited to start building when i get home. Pretty sure i'm going to be leaving early today.

The red GF02 frame is going back to BMC. The new Stealth Black SLR02 frame will be fitted out with 2016 Ultegra group and listed for sale.

So, an unridden SLR02 frame with 1000mile Ultegra group. It's a sweet ride, it's just the murdered out all black look doesn't do anything for me anymore. I had all black bikes back in the early 90s and have just had my fill of them. I couldn't choose the color of the replacement frame, so i'm parting with it.

My wife is a bit bummed since we won't be Team BMC anymore.

Here she is.

I left a lot of steer tube until i get it fit properly. I don't think i'll need the zero set back seat post. I've got the measurements dial in so that the only thing that has been extended is my reach, by about 26mm. I was intending to extend the reach a bit for a more aggressive riding position. The saddle is still able to be moved forward about 10-12 mm which should give me plenty of adjustment. Once i get used to the new position, i'll probably lower the bars by a spacer or two.

Going in for fit either tomorrow or Friday.

It's a 54 frame. Not planning on cutting the steer tube to give the new owner plenty to work with.
