I haven't watched, but I can't be the only one who is put to sleep by his reviews

But those cheesy poses for the videos! Meow!

Seriously though, not much wow-factor to his videos besides his drawn-out "lets go!" Ugh.

what's the over/under on the timestamp for when he complains there aren't any non-animal skin options for the interior?

I myself love the calm and professional way Thomas reviews all the cars, especially BMWs.

Overall after watching this review myself yesterday, I agree completely that this car is too stiff for daily usage, at least in Europe. While I was test driving M850i, I was happy that they upgraded suspension compared to my 650i and while the feeling overall was that I am controlling a "smaller" car, driving comfort was very good. Only some of the roads had reminded me that I was running on 20" wheels.

Of course M850i is not and never will be 'a true M', but the performance and comfort is what I need (along with my 7 series) for my daily usage

The reviewer reminds me of several German engineers I know.
Yes, extraordinarily boring but his info is typically quite accurate and doesn't have any marketing spins.

If you are the market for a car, a review of his will provide helpful info...

In regards to non-animal skin options, etc. it is a thing now in Germany that leather interiors and wood trims are starting to be viewed like fur, aka not in touch with the times...
Personally disagree with that as I am sucker for great nappa leather but understand some of the rationale.

This is why you can find high-end cars like the Porsche Taycan Turbo S comes default with a leather-free (race-tex) interior. Same with the upcoming EQS...

Last but not least, the frozen black works great on the M8...

I think Thomas always has a good review though sometimes a bit long on descriptions and short on driving impressions. M8GC is a great car I think but very pricey. Nearly identical performance in M5 and more back seat room. Also, much cheaper.

Great review. He covered everything, including a detailed description of his driving impressions. There was also no obvious bias for or against the brand, he gives the pros and cons without playing anything up or down.

The car is impressive. These large M cars and SUVs (and other very sporty and very large luxury cars) fit into a unique niche, but variety is the spice of life.

The M5 has less backseat room than the GC and its trunk pays the price a little. The car is 2" longer than the M5.

// EDIT: I should qualify that statement —> the GC has more legroom but the middle seat isn't practical for anything other than a quick drive.

I think it is important to watch his interior and features review, then a review of someone like Matt Farah, Chris Harris, Henry Catchpole, etc driving the car.

I know I watched his 6 series LCI video as well as 2 Chris Harris M6 videos for example.
