Nothing exciting for my next vehicle. I need a workhorse for the cabin. Something big and 4x4. Probably gently used, though that's tough to find around here in the HD pickup market; most of them have had the fuck beat out of them plowing snow or towing. Probably a Ford. I have a 2002 Excursion that's really showing its age, and there's enough rot in the undercarriage that I don't know if I'll want to put any more money into it.

I like what I've read about the new 7.3l gas motor that Ford's introduced. Maybe I can hold out until those things start hitting the used market in a couple of years.

I'm looking at selling my GT, and possibly the GT40. I'd like to have something that's fun to drive and a great road trip car. Something that isn't a douchebag magnet and doesn't attract a lot of attention. There's nothing worse than interrupting a beautiful drive with a fuel stop, and having every buck-toothed fuck-tard in the county circling your ride and asking the same 5 stupid questions. That really wrecks a drive for me.

And yes, I'm aware that that's a rich white guy problem and I should pull my dress down off my head and get on with my life.

I've had the Lexus for less than a year.....last week I found myself shopping for an M4. Yeah....an M4 sounds nice.

Which Lexus?

I've driven several. Competent, and not at all exciting. I always imagined that owning one would be like being married to a librarian. That I'd experience severe hot-rod withdrawal and be forced to have weekend flings with exotic rental cars.

Of course, the Lexus LFA is another story entirely. My God, what a siren call of an exhaust note that thing has.

Don't get me wrong, I like my IS 350. It's very quiet, smooth and quick. The being quiet has it's advantages. When I press the pedal to the floor, people see a streak and don't hear a loud exhaust to draw attention; although I do miss the exhaust note and burbles of the 335i. The IS is quick, but it isn't fast; which I'm unsure if that's good or bad. I don't need speeding tickets or an accident, but I do like the speed.

I'll most likely end up in an M4 within a year. It's what I do. I buy a BMW, get pissed off at it and dump it; then buy a Lexus, Infiniti....whatever and end up in another BMW after.

IS 350 F and you are not wrong. It's pretty boring. I do still get a kick out of switching it over into Sport + and raising hell in it on occasion, but it just doesn't have a soul or personality. I guess that's the trade for reliability.

I wanted the RCF but I couldn't justify spending another $12-15k for 2 less doors and a guaranteed cop magnet. Yeah man, that LFA is a beast, although if I had LFA money, I'd end up with an LC500.

I got lucky last week. Bought a 2019 f250 with only 1k miles on it, was considered used but came with the full warranty. The PO financing didn't go through and had to return it. 29k out the door. Has the 6.2l and is 2wd, exactly the truck I needed to go with the other 4. Hard to find trucks for a good deal anymore. Honestly the F150s are plenty of trucks any more for homeowners, I also own 2 of those and they are pretty capable now.

I should probably look at an F150, honestly. I don't tow that much anymore.

Maybe an M3/4 CS. G80 looks to long. M2 might be too small.

I had to look up the LC500. That's a handsome vehicle. The stance and profile are Aston-Martin-y. Really nice.

Dude. This.

Do you have people swerving towards you, as well. This is the crap they don't tell you when you buy something very unique. My ex-gf, well one of them, thought I was making up the inherent assholery of the motoring public until we took a road trip. After about 3 hours she apologized and starting reaching for the pistol herself.

This is what ruins the driving and ownership experience of an unique car but we have to know what we are signing up for!!

I've seen the LC500s before and they are beautiful vehicles. My problem is that I am afraid I would break the average Lexus because I drive pretty hard as much as possible. Gotta keep that fuel economy at the lower end of the scale!

I have a friend that is considering one now. They have 2 Lambos, a Maser, a 997 Turbo and a smattering of utility vehicles. The Maser is for his wife and the LC would replace it.

I even went to the trouble of having an above-ground fuel tank installed at the cabin, where I keep both cars. I get twice-monthly top-offs from the local fuel distributor. Saves me the agony of fuel stops for about 85% of the driving I do. But really, I'm ready to be done with the fuckery.

So you can't be bothered to have curious people admire your car or ask questions? Then for sure get a car that doesn't get attention or don't complain about it.

I'd like to pick up an SRT Grand Cherokee. Got rid of my 2015 High Altitude GC for the M2, and I miss the hell out of that thing. Once I get into a house, I'm going to looking into getting one.

YES! Constantly. And this is on woodsy 2-laners in northern Wisconsin. I can't even imagine operating one of these cars in an urban area. *SHUDDER*

Yeah, I read the sales material and the contract very carefully, and if anywhere it'd said "YOU WILL BE SET UPON INCESSANTLY BY MOUTH-BREATHING DOLTS" I definitely would have noticed it.

Spoken like a true liberal. Modify my behavior since living my life a certain way causes others to do things that interfere with my pleasure.

Why don't you just be thankful you live in our defensive sphere and enjoy the freedom that if gives you instead of inserting yourself into a conversation with an insane comment.

Cheers-mk

I once had someone miss me by MAYBE 2 inches because they were taking a picture. Their cigarette smoke actually entered my vehicle. I was literally transfixed place and couldn't move.

The first time I worked directly for a CEO as a young executive was when I learned about this practice for people that didn't have farmland. He had 6 cars back in the early 90s and said it was a stupid waste of time to fill up cars every week. It made perfect sense.

Hahaha really? You know nothing about me and label me as a lib. Didn't know voting CPC made you a liberal.

The point is if you get a attention grabbing car then it's to be expected people are going to look at you or ask questions. You live in a society with other people. You have no obligation to reply to them but it's to be expected. Or put somekind of vinyl wrap saying you won't answer any questions. Because afaik, they are allowed to ask you questions. But you are also allowed to not answer them.

Just get a sleeper car and stop acting like a entitled child or simply communicate and say I rather not talk with you?

If people talking with you interfere with your pleasure perhaps living in a society isn't for you? Maybe you should go live on a private island? Seems like such a terrible issue to communicate with others I'm just saying suggestions here.

Curious and courteous? Yes, absolutely. But for every one of those, there's a stinky shit-head with half a hamburger in his teeth and a Confederate flag tattoo on his neck asking some variant of "How much did that thing cost?" or "Is that a Ferrari?" or "Is that thing fast?" or "My buddy's Hellcat would smoke that thing." That's not curious. That's obnoxious. I bought the cars to be able to slip off into my own private world and savor an intense driving experience. These fuckers kick the door down every time. I'm pretty done with it.
