Starting to get pissed off. BMW has been really shitty at handling the pandemic and shortages and the whole allocation issue. Seems no one has allocations for M850i Gran Coupes.

At this point, probably going to ditch BMW altogether over this. Considering what they've done with their residuals and etc…..they no longer are priced to the point that I wouldn't consider Benz or Porsche.

You could try a Penske Automotive Group BMW dealer. Looks like the closest to you are in either Michigan or Minnesota.

https://www.penskeautomotive.com/locations/default.aspx

The reason being is my dealer BMW North Scottsdale is part of the group and horse traded an allocation with another dealer in the group for 1 of 6 for the first 2020 M850is. Then again there is a recent thread discussing either a new BMW policy (doubt it) about dealers not taking orders outside of their area. Guessing if anything they won't do it because they lose the service opportunity.

BMW isn't the only manufacturer affected by supply chain disruptions.

It literally is what it is at the moment.

Benz's lead times are about the same as BMW's. Porsche's are considerably longer.

PM me if you want contact info for my Florida dealership. I've been amazed at the number of cars (including 8s) that they're receiving and selling. I did not pay an ADM on my recently delivered M8, however, they asked for one, and they've put one on every car on their lot ($30k for 8s, $40k for M8s). I have no idea whether they'd insist on an ADM from an out-of-state buyer.

BMW chapman in Chandler Az shows that they've got a few in stock. How true that is, I don't know.

Thanks for the heads up as haven't paid attention to Chapman's inventory as they want $2500 ADM (at least on the G80 I was helping a buddy buy) so may be more on the 8-series.

That said this one comes close to ticking all my boxes as I could live with Black Sapphire although not a go to exterior choice.

https://www.chapmanbmwchandler.com/d...es/2300032/CAC

It's definitely loaded including B&W audio but had to use the configurator plus a VIN decoder to figure out it doesn't have a CF roof. It does have the exterior CF package but knowing the cost of the CF mirror caps and a few of the other components I'd kick it to the curb for the CF roof and add on the mirror caps, etc. after the fact. Plus, extended vs full leather and the HP tire package I'd shift the cost into full leather on an order.

The VIN decoder does confirm wirelesss charging is back.
  • 6NW Telephony With Wireless Charging

As well as the iDrive controller loses the touch input function.
  • 6UX Bmw Controller Without Touch-function

As stated I can live without either and especially the latter as with 6+ years of iD6 and iD7 experience it is flat out useless. So this one came close to making me rethink buying out my lease but no cigar.

There are quite a few 2022 m850 GC’s with low mile for sale out there. If you get a CPO you should be good to go.

Hi, maybe another option is to find a dealer near you with a GC in production. If it is not too far into the process the order can be changed. PM Hinckley as I think that is what he was able to do resulting in him getting his vehicle very quickly. I see a handful of GC’s in production for Wisconsin dealers on the BMW USA website.
Hope that is of some assistance. Now back to the beach……..

That's insane!!! And people are paying it? I wasn't willing to potentially pay an extra $4k on the X3 I'm getting.

Yes they are, my dealer gets them without much push back anymore if my sales guy is telling the truth. They don't give me any due to the relationship and I spend too much there.

Relationships are key and the same here as my dealer has offered MSRP plus what ever discounts can be passed along aka loyalty, etc.

I asked the finance guy when I was doing the paperwork on delivery of my M8, and he claimed that customers were paying it. As I've said before, in my area of the country, there are a lot people with more dollars than sense, so who knows? I think a lot of people are just too afraid to ask.

Here're almost literally the first words spoken when I sat down across from my CA:
Me: Are we talking a markup over MSRP?
CA: Yes.
Me: That's a non-starter for me.
CA: Will you pay just a little over?
Me: No. And certainly not for a one-and-done model like the 8.
CA: I need to ask my manager.
CA (3 minutes later): My manager said OK.

Not exactly like negotiating with Putin. But some people are just too shy to do it.

Sadly just a fact of the "gotta have it now" mentality here in the US that is exacerbated with those that have money to burn.

LOL moment of the forum today and so spot on. The consumer is king in any negotiation but you have to be willing to walk away (back to the "gotta have it now" mentality).

I placed an order on a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing nearly a year ago. Still don't have so much as a dealer allocation from one of the highest volume Caddy dealers in Texas. By comparison, I ordered a 2023 M850i the beginning of April (BMW of San Antonio). Took delivery last week.

BMW of West Houston has a good amount of allocations and stock coming in. I’ve seen a few M5’s, M8’s, x5m’s, and M4’s come in over the past month or so. I got my m850i from them a couple of months ago and have been really happy with the experience. No markup over MSRP and they were willing to work with me and throw in a few things. Aaron is my sales guy there and is definitely the guy to contact if you’re interested.
