In this video, at 1:29, they talk about changing the 2023 M850i to a black kidney frame vs the chrome. Does anyone know if this is a separate part number or part of the trim package?

Looking for this Black Kidney part number for the 2023 M850i, might be too early to get parts?

At least on my 2020 BMW offered a black kidney grill that my dealer swapped out on their dime (along with CF mirror caps and shadow line exhaust and side kidneys) to erase the Cerium I wasn't happy about and was not on my order. I have the invoice with parts listed and labor hours but no cost associated as it was $0 to me.

Here's a shot of the kidney grill. Also according to the 2023 configurator it's a $300 option so if you don't order and end up with chrome or cerium (if still a thing) then I'm sure you should be able to get the parts.

Curious if and when the illuminated grill will be out or a part. The euro alpine has black illuminated grill but the us got the ugly grandpa chrome.

My 2020 was built in October of 2019 and landed in December. Ironically the BMW M parts just came available in December as my CA checked in that and immediately placed the order. 2 weeks later after the parts arrived I took the car back and they did the swap.

So sounds like your interested in an Alpina B8? My pic from the 2023 with the $300 was for a standard M850i. The Alpina configurator for the US has no option for the black grill but one would think the standard M850i kidney part would work unless Alpina has somehow changed the design/shape but doubtful.

That's my goal. To run the 2023 M850i black grill that's illuminated on the Alpina.

Alpina EU got the option but the US got jipped haha

Assuming the B8 has a black kidney and the illumination then the black kidney grill trim should work.

The b8 comes with an illuminated chrome. The M850i has a black illuminated grill. I'm sure BMW will want a pretty penny for it too

The US B8 configurator shows a black kidney but to your point chrome trim. So worst case is just for the black aka shadow line trim they'll charge $300 for the package one can order just for the trim piece.

Guessing this one will work and matches the OEM part number on my invoice.

Yes but this is not the new 2023 model. The new kidney grills have illumination which I imagine will take BMW some time to get parts to the usa
