M Carbon seats, M Carbon ceramic brakes, etc.

I have been looking through various options for a new spec. When I browsed available inventory throughout the US, I have seen very view cars optioned the the carbon ceramic brakes. Additionally, I have not found any optioned with the carbon seats. I did find a fair amount of carbon fiber exterior trim packages. I was also surprised to find many M8 Comp Conv with the std HK and not the B&W.

What is the consensus, not worth these added expenses?

I wish I did the brakes but happy I didn't do the seats in the long run... This is a GT car and those seats suck for a distance drive or really a daily used often.. I think most would save the money for the brakes due to not needing such high performance brakes often or even at all in some cases. Those where the only two boxed I didn't check on mine. The B&W is the only sound I would have in any BMW if there is an option for it, something I would never not check for sure.

The carbon seats are not for everyone. IMO too small and too hard to use daily as Tenac Says.
The Carbon brakes, I got them and love them. Worth every penny imo. Plus probably good to 100k as well. If you can, go for those. They are amazing brakes.

Suggestions on Dealer Installed Options

I am working on a spec. for F91...Any suggestions on M Performance Exhaust, Carbon Side Skirts, and any other dealer installed options? I would appreciate any input very much.

I have the CF side skirts. I think they finish off the look of the rest of the exterior CF.

I could not justify the cost of the ceramic brakes or the CF seats, not the way I use the car; either 100 miles weekly rides or 4 day weekend trips.

Judging from what OP has found in national inventory, dealers aren’t spec’ing the cars that way either.

I would almost pay to NOT get the carbon seats. Maybe if it was going to be a track car, but for a daily driver they are not comfortable or ideal or easy to deal with getting in and out, let alone the complaining someone potentially frequenting the passenger seat that isn't as much into cars as you might and who won't tolerate them because they look cool.

I had a base M8 and upgraded to an M8 c with CCBs. They’re way better in terms of brake squeak. The steel breaks are notorious for squeaks and squeals. IMO, the CCBs are worth it for that alone. And they look killer in gold, don’t create brake dust, should last 100k miles with normal driving, and stop on a dime.

Yeah, agreed 110%. There’s another side of the argument but if you have the money to easily acquire this car as your primary performance car and use it like that, CCBs are a no brainer. If I didn’t think to use the car like that I would pass too and put it towards the B&W.

in my beast, I’ve had the stereo on and have played it loud only half a dozen times but got B&W because snareman told me to. lol. And I play the skins too

I'm jealous you have it and I don't. BMW screwed me out of it. 😢. They screwed me over in all sorts of ways for trying to get an early allocation. But that's a whole other thing from a year and a half ago.

Personally I can't see spending the money on the CCBs or the seats but totally would on the radio.

to me it doesn't have much sense to spend extra on stereo for convertible.

I thought the same thing till I realized how well tuned the B&W engineers made their setup in the M8. Just on another level to what I've had over the years.

CCBs only make sense if you don’t intend to track the car. They will last the lifetime of the car with street use only. On the track, they’ll go pretty quickly and the expense will be prohibitive.

I know, their options are even more outrageously priced for things that we get standard at BMW. Carbon fiber roof is a good example.

I have the carbon buckets, they are fantastic. I drove 10 hours and 30 minutes DC to Martha's Vineyard) twice in a week and had zero comfort issues. I am 5'10" 175 lbs.
