My M8 non comp hit 163MPH on the way home from the dealership. Multiple times.
Already wrapped the trim shadowline (its just black), was $250 total. Car was just broken in and am doing secondary cat deletes to up the sound ($500) will replace the resonator with an H pipe if still ot satisfied (was quoted $250) this is my wifes daily. It will never see the track, even on full comfort it borders on almost too stiff for a luxury coupe. We have actual track cars if she ever gets the itch, no reason to sacrifice the cars streetability as it is a 2.5 ton luxury coupe, again not a track car.

an ecu tune will remove the top speed limiter. I've seen stock m850i doing 200 mph. I bet the m8 can exceed 200 mph stock with a stage 1 ecu tune.
add an exhaust, some pipes, chips, and ecu tune for race fuel or such and I have no doubt the m5 or m8 will hit 220 mph. |

Is there any sound benefit to removing the mid pipe in the BMW M* Comp? I like the stock sound, it just needs more. I have heard mixed reviews when removing the M8 Comp mid pipe. Can anyone vouch one way or the other for more sound?

Minimal at best, leave it alone and just swap out the secondary downpipes. Way more of what you are looking for and 100% reversible.

Thank you! That is what I suspected. Believe it or not, its hard to get people to answer this question so cut and dry the way you did. Thanks again.
