UK Discount on new build to order M850i
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I'm just sharing the discount on a build-to-order M850i, 3 year lease, list price with options was £118k, in case it helps you. Discount = 10% I've no idea if that is good or bad, so please do share any numbers you have with regards to UK dealers discount. |

I was reading on PistonHeads in the M section that people are getting 20k off M5s. So I’d have thought in a few months that 20k would be achievable on the M850i

I will be ordering mine in December (840d), I'm already seeing used examples with little to no miles on for £63k in Bmw dealerships/autotrader. I think these will be rare cars on the UK roads and like the 6 there will be amazing deals if you want one.

I really cant see the M850 selling well in the UK, It will go the same was as the previous gen 650i and to a lesser extent the 640i.
I have been told by a reliable source that the 8 series will on 2.9% around about easter time, the M5 is available on 0%. Great car no doubt, but it will bomb. The discounts will need to be made available to allow for acceptable lease/ PCP payments. |

The 840d starts at £76k and most dealers are happy to shift them quick as they don't have to earn back the same list price customers pay. I don't know the detailed economics, but as I understand it the demo probably owes the dealership about £58k after kickers from BMW, especially on a new lunch model. Second-hand for mid £60's probably makes the dealer and new customer very happy.

My dealership have quoted 13% discount and a £5000 deposit contribution on the coupes with 9% and 5K on the convertibles.

The car I have just bought (November 2018
68 reg) G15 coupe Diesel, the list price with spec was £83800 Sterling, that’s 7 months ago. I’ve paid £57500, it’s just under 5k on the speedometer. Would you say that was a bargain? What do you think about the 26k depreciation? |

I've been waiting for this to happen. I drove the 840 last November and was very impressed so I asked the dealer to quote for a trade in on my Sep '16 640i convertible, fully specced, immaculate condition and under 10k miles.
Of course, there was no discount at the time so no surprise there but what I didn't expect was the offer of just £30k on my car. List price when I bought it was £75k so that represents a depreciation figure of 60% in just over two years. Granted, I got a decent discount on my 6 (I paid £57k) but it was still a bit of a shock. So much for BMWs holding their value! I've now decided to take extended warranty and keep my car until Sep '20. Hopefully by then the discounts will be significant... |

I had an interesting experience, by chance I went into the dealership 4 days before quarter end ready to buy an ex-demo 840d they had at £67k, fully loaded without B&W hifi.
I bought it, signed the paperwork at 5.9% on A PCP and left them to prep the car. By the time I got home, the dealership called. Apparently (so they say) the Director of Sales for BMW UK had called the dealership, and incentivised the dealership to sell me the brand new unregistered car they had in the showroom, same spec, including the BW hifi for the same finance numbers as the ex-demo. So I ended up with a brand new car with effectively a £16k discount and a slightly higher GFV because it was brand new. They will never sell loads of them, and like the 6 they will depreciate like crazy, but as long as you budget for that, then what the hell, you only live once. |

It’s not unusual though, I bought an ex-demo 911 carrera 2 about 20 years ago, paid £75k for it, traded in in 2 years later for £34k, those dealers have gotta keep their margins the car retailed for £50k |

End of June is another quarter end for BMW, that is no coincidence I think.

forget buying new, even with massive discounts makes no sense, did make sense when 0% was available, 3.9% on offer at present, still too high in y view
List on my M6 was £110k 20mts ago, was offered £35k in px last week, even after the discount I had when new I am stuffed, so will keep it till the end of its term, by then a 2yr old M8 will be less than £50k, thats my plan Killer depreciation will cripple all new 8 series models, Sytner Bham has so far managed to shift a grand total of 0 cars |

Out of interest regarding Sytner Birmingham, can I ask how you managed to find out they have shifted zero 8 series?
