M8 Wheels on 850i
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Sorry if this was asked before... but can the M8's 20x10.5 and 20x8.5 wheels bolt right on to the 850i? Do any modifications or settings need to be made? |

The M8 and Alpina tires also run an inch larger in diameter. I have been trying to get the same question answered. The tire guy at my dealer was looking but we didn't fully get into the offsets and the rest of the geometry. |

With that much difference in width the wheels will stick out 3/4" further (half of the 1.5" width difference) even if the offsets are identical with your wheels. But the offsets probably are not even close. I can tell you that M6 wheels do not fit on a 650, so your issues may be the same. The offset on M6 wheels is much lower, so the wheels stick out too far so spacers can't solve the problem.

What's up guys,
I don't know if this will assist in answering your question or not. I am running 21x9 in the front and 21x10.5 on a M850i that is lowered. Hope that helps! |

You still need to figure out the offset. Wheel size/fitment means very little w/o that. As for whether it affects XDrive, that depends on tire size more than wheel size. You want your rolling diameter between the front and rear wheels to be nearly identical. For the wheels, 21" is 21" regardless of width. But you still have to fit tires. To maintain nearly the same diameter, you have to adjust the aspect ratio - the second number in your tire size. If you have tires on the rear that are something like 275 30 21, the 275 is the width in mm, and the 30 is the side wall height. But it is not a measurement in mm, but is a percentage of the width (aspect ratio). So whatever 30% of 275 is, is the height of your sidewall. Your front tires will be narrower, so you need a larger aspect ratio to get to the same rolling diameter.

What size tires are you running? What are your wheel offsets? Do you have any pictures? Thanks. |

All tires are Michelin PS4's, The front are currently on 245/30/21's due to nationwide shortage of recommended size. I have have been religiously following TireRack for updates and noticed some stock available and placed an order for an end of June shipment so let's see if that works out. PS I would highly recommend getting some Alpina B8 wheel arch trims when they become available. I'll attach those pictures as well for those who don't know what I'm talking about. |

Did you notice much of a difference (ie improvement) in handling and steering with the wider tires? |

Lastly, if anyone knows how to get a hold of these, I would greatly appreciate more info on it. BMW told me that haven't made replaceable parts yet for the Alpina, but their selling the vehicle so it makes absolutely no sense |
