Best piggyback option for M850i- 2023 ?

Hello Guys,

So I did a bit of homework and I am a bit reluctant on the DME tuning now with of the warranty issues risks, the potential software updates which could void the tune as well... A local tuner offered me the option to buy a used computer to make the tune on it, and keep the new DME as backup...
but can you drive a brand new BM with an older Computer without any issues ? which new updates will you miss ?

Considering I have a new car I would like to try a 'safer' option for the moment, and see if it does the job.

I would gladly appreciate a slightly better 0-100 and more torque after 100 km/h.

Regarding this, I have seen many options are available, the Racechip GTS (which I owned on a Maserati SQ4, but didn't make much Difference...), is there a brand I should consider for this tune ?
Dinan, Jb4, GTS ?

and how about driving a MY2023 M850i with a 2019 tuned DME ? XD

advices much appreciated

Have a Great Sunday

I have a JB4 on my M8 Comp and really love it. I drive on MAP 2 running an E-30 blend and she MOVES OUT.

Isn't the JB4 more problematic with engine errors / cells compared to RaceChip ?

I read bunches of reports both ways regarding those two systems. The main idea that seemed to come up was that the JB4 is better IF you're willing to do the full install of it, you'll get better performance, but the RC is more fire and forget.

I have had no issues with mine.

I have run RC on the following cars:

F90 M5
F93 M8
F92 M8
G80X M3
G80C M3

Now this is not a judgement on a product Ive not tried aka JB4 but to tell you why I did what I did.

RC is perfect for me and my shit 91 gas where I will NOT be running alternative fuels and mods. Its a plug, play, and walk away product that can install and remove rather easily (again JB can do similar stuff) but I just like how the product has been for my needs which is a slight bump in hp and speeds from digs to rolls.

If was into advanced fuels and high end mods like DP's and other items; JB would be my choice. But Im not. I just like the value for the gains I get along with the simplicity and the bluetooth app for convenience.

Not at all, I have used both and for my situation: installed DP's and wanted to take advantage of E85 blends, ended with the JB4. On Map 2 JB4 vs. Map 7 RC, JB4 showed me faster times and no limp mode, now on JB4 Map 3 (E20+ blend) the difference was night and day.

When I had the RC it was limp mode galore as I had previously installed high flow catted down pipes. RC techs could not fixed the problem so I returned it and bought the JB4, from day 1 was a much better option for me. Terry sent me a couple of updates after I sent him my logs and it's been about a year now and the car is running great, once it gets cooler in Miami, I will try a few runs with 100+ race gas and see if times are better than E30 which is what I use for my daily driving.

Good luck
