Comfort Access Intermittent
Is anyone having issues with the "Comfort Access" feature?
It's supposed to unlock the vehicle when you approach and lock the vehicle when you walk away. Mine worked for a while then stopped, then, after about a week, it worked for a couple of days and then stopped again. I've reset the Comfort Access settings, but it makes no difference. Any ideas? |

Maybe try changing the battery in your key fob or trying the other key fob? That's all I can think of.

Thanks. The dealer confirmed there was an issue and ordered a new FOB since the other FOB worked. However, the other FOB stopped working a few days later as well. Also, the batteries are new.

I wouldn’t mind betting that your stop/start isn’t functioning either - not as noticeable as comfort access packing up.As I understand some non-essential features shut down to prevent battery drainage…which makes perfect sense…but the car doesn’t tell you!! |

Suggest deactivating for troubleshooting purposes if you have that checked.

I thought of that too. I'm keeping the battery charged with a CTEK maintenance charger; however, the issue still persists. Also, the touch lock on the door handle is intermittent. Wondering if that could be caused by dry, or moisturized hands. Waiting for a new FOB. If it doesn't cure the issue, I'm thinking they may have to pull the module in the vehicle. Are you suggesting to deactivate and then reactivate? |

Not sure I understand the logic: The issue is that the convenience feature does not work. How will deactivating the feature verify if it works or not? |

My understanding is comfort access & the fob play a role in profile recognition. Issue might be profile related. You keep hands free with it unchecked but welcome on screen won't be personalized. I traded out of an R231. The tech these cars have is much more advanced.

The R231 is a true GT--sports when you want it--that makes you feel like royalty. Mine is tucked away for the winter. To be honest, I would much prefer less "Tek". A couple of saying that ring true: Reliability is inversely proportional to complexity; and The mother of necessity is invention. Thanks for all your suggestions!
