Other than a few of the "BangleButt" editions, I think BMW's have always looked good...great sport sedan styling. People google over Lambos, but I still prefer BMW style which wears well over time. I've owned five (so far), and my favorite was my first...1997 E36 M3...

Lulz. I'm not slamming you for having an opinion, even though it differs from mine - but this pic is so carefully cherry picked, it really can't prove anything. Frontal view (shows the least of the car), shiny gloss black (hides all the lines), lowered and murdered out (to hide even more of the car and make any design look mean) and indirect light/processing. Any car, no matter how it actually looks, will look 200% better under these circumstances

E60's and most of the Bangle era bmw's were pretty bad looking when new, so naturally they also don't look good aged either. Maybe if they didn't replace cars such as e39 and e46 Bangle era cars would have looked better. They had big shoes to fill in and didn't deliver.
With that being said, I have learned to love my e90 m3 over the last 4+ years. It did age well, but not as well as an e46 or e39 which are truly times less designs. S65 itself is in a diff category but that's not what this post is about. I disagree that all e90/92s have aged well. Higher end models did age well, m3, 335is, any m pkg cars, etc. But early model 328s aged terrible, especially with their sunken in wheels. Most e46 325/328s look better today. |
