GT500 came back strong but was never really in it.
This is why BMW moves to MXDrive, traction wins that pull. Lap time comparisons would be interesting in the future but honestly I can only see BMW M8 being quicker.

The GT 500 is pretty damn quick on a lap as well. Should be a good race.

It would have been much fairer to test the GT500 vs an M850, as its price is much closer to the GT's. I always kid people that the M850's are German Shelbys.

However, one thing I noted in the video is the aesthetics comparison between the cars in the early footage. When the 8-series hit it was bashed as looking too much like the current Mustang. Was never an issue for me as stated I like the look vs the Camero. Although the GT500 has a more aggressive front-end look I truly appreciate that cleaner look of the M8C. |

GT500s trap is way higher than the M8. Only reason the M8 wins is due to the AWD.

M8 launches ahead M8 isn't passed M8 crosses 1/4 mile first Sure if this was a mile, a half mile the GT500 walls it. I will repeat my statement the GT500 comes back but as never in that 1/4 mile unless final trap speed is the only measure?

This was more about the drivers than the cars, the M8 driver was far more consistent than the GT500 driver.
However, it does not surprise me the GT500 was having a hard time putting the power to the pavement. You can have all the power in the world. however, if you can not put it to ground it will not matter. |

Assuming both car heavy modified.
Still GT500 will win. But M8 with high horsepower will put power in ground better. GT500 when passing 850 horses it is hard to lunch. Rolling race is totally different thing GT500 will win anytime Thank you. |
