Hey bro. I did not read anything other than your post.

Stop and Think. If he gets hurt or hurts someone you will be found out so fast your head will spin.

Like this post is incriminating. We had a legit house in Florida and lived in NY. My dad would never let me drive in NY at a Florida age because of liability.

Really not doing your 14 yo any good showing him how proud dad is to work the system and put the family at risk for liability. It’s guys like you that make is all have to deal with "your" kids and the next generation of idiots.

Good job-NOT.

I’m done good Luck.

I appreciate your comments, I'm fully aware of the liability, definitely rethinking my position

I wanted a teen BMW driving course BUT it's a 16 year old minimum no matter if it's legal in some other states to drive

Parking lots after hours might just continue for another year until he's legal or shortcut to Kansas?

How about spending the next year until he is legal teaching him how to change a tire, take the time to talk to him about what a responsibility it is to drive. And how a car is a weapon as much as it is a mode of transportation.

I fear your lack of seriousness about letting your son drive could lead to some very unhappy times if you don't get this aligned with driver safety, respect for the road and others that share it with him.

Good advice!

My son works with me, everyday I want him to learn.

#1 loosen the lugs before you lift the car #2 wash from the top of the car down 3# girls like to eat too, make sure you order for them salad or they'll ballon in time...

Most on here think I'm a prick, prideful and a show off (far from it) I think experience is important

Off topic: my family let the teens drink a (little) during dinners and some cookouts to experience it in a controlled atmosphere. After the first time I got drunk my dad told me to be careful. He said, "alcoholism" doesn't run in the family, it Gallup's, 20 years later I just drink now n then

Careful when going out then driving home

Better yet, why doesn't he just stop half-assing it and just move to the midwest? Easiest solution there was to this whole thing.

KC native here. I've got nothing to add to this thread other than:

1) My son is 14 and is driving. He seems WAY TOO young to be driving, but with the way the rules are now written, if he wants to driving by himself at 17, he has to get the permit at 14.

2) Joe's KC is BY FAR the best BBQ in KC. No debating this. If you want the full Joe's experience, go the original one in the gas station in Kansas City, Kansas.

3) The Royal's suck.

First person to actually answer my question (where to eat) thank you

That's the plan, eat bbq and see a game no matter if they're under 500

Seeing a live game is fun no matter if they suck

Nice, seems like you definitely made the most of the trip! Which BBQ place was your favorite? I have to say mine is Q39, hands down.

Joes @ the gas station location was our favorite followed by q39, gates and Arthur Bryant should be shut down (dirty place) yes I know bbq places are suppose to be a little grimy but they just do not clean properly imo, staff needs retraining

I'm a contractor, Restaurants are my number 1 customer, I see hundreds a year behind the scenes, AB and Gates should be shut down by the board of health, 10 worst I've seen, other places do food prep the right way, crazy because both are making multi million dollars a year, very little reinvestment on location and staff.

Q and joes both were night and day difference, food prep was neat no cross contamination and properly handled, small example joes wraps the full rack of ribs in plastic so the precious cargo will not dry out but gates leaves them on the counter in a pile, 1 order @ joes looks sexy but the ribs @ gates looks like it past it's prime

Warm and generally really nice people in KC metro area including Overland Park/Lenexa KS.

I still smell like smoked brisket day(s) later... isn't a bad thing
