No, hospitalizations due to CV19 per 100,000 population.

I hope that we can all learn from this tragedy.

I cannot give an A to the response of the administration. They are taking it seriously but still trying to force it to fit a controlled narrative. Kushner trying to coordinate anything is laughable.
I give a C overall, maybe a B for the past two weeks alone.

Yes, this data does not yet seem to align well with other sources we have. Here are the notes on the bottom of the page:

COVID-NET covers nearly 100 counties in the 10 Emerging Infections Program (EIP) states (CA, CO, CT, GA, MD, MN, NM, NY, OR, TN) and four Influenza Hospitalization Surveillance Project (IHSP) states (IA, MI, OH, and UT).

Incidence rates (per 100,000 population) are calculated using the National Center for Health Statistics' (NCHS) vintage 2018 bridged-race postcensal population estimates for the counties included in the surveillance catchment area.

The rates provided are likely to be underestimated as COVID-19 hospitalizations might be missed due to test availability and provider or facility testing practices.

I really hope he recovers even though I frequently disagree with his stances. If there is a silver lining, maybe people who are not taking it seriously will now.

This virus is really dangerous in week 2 based on what we know. One of the problems with this disease is how long it takes to resolve. I've seen a paper that puts the median time from symptom onset to death at 17 days, which sucks for hospitals.

Does anyone know if worldometer and other tracking sites are a day behind? As in the data they show as now is what actually happened yesterday.

I went to a couple large grocery stores/super market chains today and could not believe what I saw. Not in the stores themselves, but in the parking lots. Lots of gloves and face masks scattered all over the parking lot. Are you fucking kidding? You piece of trash excuse for human beings! These are the same sheep paranoid out of their minds and just so concerned about flattening the curve or whatever the hell else it is, but they discard their used masks and gloves right in the parking lot for somebody else to clean up! I guess these POSs don’t want to get whatever imaginary germ there is into their cars, so they just dumped it in the parking lot.

This is in an upper middle class area of St. Louis as well! Absolutely outrageous, I’d give shoot to maim orders if anyone is spotted doing that!!

Worldometer seems to update as it gets data, but has a daily cutoff at 2400 GMT (8:00 PM Eastern in the USA). In other words, at 8:01 pm the next day starts for worldometer.

I like this site but their data seems to come from multiple sources and doesn’t match my state’s data (see worldometer) https://covid-19.direct/US this site has a nice curve-fitting which gives you the approximate days to double cases or deaths in each state/county where there is good data.

This site, which is the only one I’ve found with predicted curves for hospitalizations and deaths, hasn’t updated since April 1. I’m hoping they are improving the model and updating the data so when it does come current will be really useful. https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

Each site seems to have their own updating methodology. My state publishes its data at 5:00 pm ET every day, but some states seem to provide data throughout the day so I’m sure that confounds the data analysts and models.

Strange....what area? Everything looked pretty typical here in South City (STL hills) at the local stores.

Yeah, not cool.

But hey, it seems that the restrictions in New York are working. Lets see what the numbers for the week look like. Washington is already flattened.

The medicine to stop the spread without a vaccine is pretty awful but it is working.

We will come back from this. Our economy may be screwed short term and the future of it will likely be different. Opportunities abound for those willing to strike out and lead what comes next.

It is in how places are reporting. There are so many cases that states are not reporting in real time anymore.

Worldometers had some issues with numbers being higher than actual and having to scale them back.

Just like news organizations, it appears that worldometers does not like having to issue corrections. As such they are slowing their publishing and going with official numbers.

Nobody wants to be making fake news here.

I thought worldometer was updating as of the same day, but this morning Cuomo announced 630 deaths on Friday and 594 on Saturday for NY. Considering worldometer is reporting 594 today and 630 yesterday, they seem to be a day behind.

This should show us that the "new normal" won't last long. We are right in the middle of this and people are already forgetting.

Now you can tell the deceased's loved ones how "in-front" and "cutting-edge" the POTUS has been in "leading" the US to be pro-active and defeat COVID....you have lost your mind.

Tune back in to Faux News and listen to Sean tell his valued followers that they should hate Gov Cuomo....he is the real enemy.

What have we become that the bar is so low that we could believe that the POTUS is leading us to resolve COVID....I'm out.

Chesterfield!! The Wal Mart and Target parking lots in the Valley! I hope these are just some oddball occurrences, no excuse for this! FYI went to a shooting range and had some BBQ today at Sharp Shooters off Gravois. Like you said, everything looked typical. I was surprised at the amount of traffic out too, looked like a fairly normal Sunday. Got my AUG A3 sighted in real well at 25 too!

I've got my skull/bones/camo face coverings coming in on Tuesday I think. I rarely leave the house since I work remote and just stock up once every couple weeks at the grocery story. I'll cover my nose/mouth however so as to not freak people out, it's crazy how on edge people are right now. Personally I think it's ridiculous of course, but might as well go with the flow in regards to nose/mouth covering in public. I wouldn't be surprised if grocery stores etc. make everybody cover their nose/mouths before coming in anyway pretty soon.
