Well, I've gotten nothing but normal compliments about my e92 335xi...but when I had my last car (modded + debadged 05.5 Audi A4 2.0T) the best question I was asked was how nice is it to drive an RS6? lol I found it quite ammusing...

all great storys guys,

heres mine,

I drove over to my friends apartment complex. Its set up so that you park inbetween buildings. So i get out of my car, and hear a bunch of really loud music. A guy about 4 stories up from where the music was coming from yells down to me

GUY:"Yo man is that the 7 seriers bimmer?"
ME: "no its a 3 series".

I think to myself what kind of idiot confusing a 3 for a 7 He then says,

GUY: "Nice bro that thing got the twin turbos?"
ME: i kinda started laughing and said ya, then walked inside the complex.

I found it interesting that somehow you can confuse a 3series for a 7 series, but yet he knows a 3 series has a twin turbo?

Came to another shop to fix a rock chip and he asked "is the a 5 series?"

Somehow I felt insulted from the 2nd question, but happy with the 1st.

The car is almost 3 yrs old (325i with 162's)

Sometime in October..
Got pulled over in Burbank by a cop 'cause of the Munich plates (which I still had on)

Cop: Sir, is this your car?
Me: Yes officer
Cop: License, Registration and Insurance please
(I hand them over, the registration contained my real California plate numbers, cop runs the plates and turns out clean)
Cop: Sir, this is a very nice car, but why do you have European plates on it?
Me: Well officer I picked my car up in Munich, Germany a few months ago. I recently drove it to San Francisco and wanted to show off my car and plates to my cousins. So I took it off for just this past weekend. The real plates are in my trunk.
Cop: Interesting..
Me: I'm serious officer. See, that's why the car is so dirty from the roadtrip.
(Cop walks over to the front and notices the front vanity plate)
Cop: And you don't have a front plate either. It is a very nice car though.
Me: I'm a busy professional officer and I just havent had the time to put it back on. I havent even had the time to wash my car, see how dirty it is.
Cop: Dirty?? Sir this car is extremely clean.. (walks all around).. Great looking car! Alright Sir I'll let you off since you seem to have a good reason and your car is very nice. But pleease next time put your California plates on.

you know what? after they put the new oil in. they couldn't find the stick. and I wasn't there.
guess what? they opened up the plastic cover on top of the engine to find it. Lucky that I got back in time and was like "what the F**** are you doing with my car?" ... the scared the sh!t out of me too because that was the 1st time I saw someone dissecting my car.

he told me he was looking for a stick. I told him that it's done by the computer.

he put it back in, no harm done.... man... what was close !!!

Lol im loving all these stories. Heres mine.

Was leaving the store with this girl. Tells me how my car is so cute, then she looks at the top of the trunk. Now realize that she has seen me with the car for over a year. She just keeps staring and then asks " I love your wing, do you think they have one like that for mine?(she drives a mazda 3)"

I look at my car...Then her....and then

Tell her thats no wing, its just the trunk. She looked at me like

Then the littlest one comes up like, "Man thats one sick M3. I bet those turbos are badass." Told him thanks....Cousin and i looked at eachother after they left, looked at my badge, and I knew I wasnt the one that was high.

Oh man that reminded me of the time I took a trip with my dad to Death Valley. I had not yet received my california plates, so all I had on back was the ED plate. Cop of course asked about it, asked where I bought the car (making sur eI didn't steal it I guess). Then I had to explain the whole ED process, and he went on to comment on how beautiful the car was just as you explained. Sadly, he still gave me the ticket.
