8 series ambient temp sensor location

I'm getting a cel and -40 for the outside temp so I'm trying to track down the ambient temp sensor but no one knows where it is. Even the dealer has been unsuccessful in locating it; not even the line it plugs into can be found with the front bumper off.

According to the dealer it's supposed to be on the passenger side area in front of the wheel, behind the plastic. My shop went through it all and it's simply not there. Is it possible that the sensor is internal someplace or anyone else replace it before?

What is your 8 series model/model year? Can't look up info without a model/model year. If you want specifics...gotta give us specifics. Im on my phone so perhaps I'm missing details.

Apologies, it was found. The shop disconnected the wire and left the sensor in the bumper. Passenger side in front of the wheel.

Thanks for helping though.

3 dealers unable to find it and they are still in business. Smh.

Good thing they didn’t tell you that new BDC_BODY module needed and charge you arms and legs for it plus the labor.
