Again, sooooo worth it.
LOL. Nope paid ~$1800 per month for the lease and now ~$1300 for the buy out loan as kept the cash in a CD earning slightly above the loan APR so free money. ConnectedDrive is good through this December, will renew for a year then ditch the car for a 2025 final build.

Until then can't care less the steering wheel lowers further than it should as works perfectly even at that. Didn't even notice it until the testing but in hindsight did have to raise it slightly so the full auto assist (kicked in when stuck in traffic on the 101 back in December could see my eyeballs and no hands on the wheel.

While 7/2022.58 did not kick in the steering wheel adjustment subscription, it did politely let me know my 90 day trial of the traffic camera subscription is expiring soon. BMW gets you one way or another.

Will report back if there's any improvement to the steering wheel movement.

It you're on Android just install JBV1 and run it offline. It will pull in all Waze alerts plus fixed speed cameras. Pair it with a V1G2 and the ultimate Swiss army knife. 👍

Not fixed in 7/2022.58.

It's a tease. Just wait till after winter. Lol
Kidding aside, mine moves into preset position properly most of the time. That's why I'm like WTF when it doesn't.

I had this issue with mine the morning after setting up my driver profile the day before. I had exited and entered the vehicle multiple times throughout that day, during which the programmed settings worked properly all day.

This was what corrected the issue for me.

(My steering wheel was not adjusting at all when memory position was recalled by pressing the button or with the vehicle remote.). Seat and mirrors adjusted correctly.

1. Cleared/deleted my profile within vehicle settings.
2. created a new profile in my BMW app.
3. Reset seat, wheel, and mirror settings.
4. programmed to position 1.
5. Synced the new “my bmw” profile.

Since, my steering wheel adjusts to exact position upon startup consistently.

I'd like to see some time pass before calling this a fix. Let us know in a few days how it's working for you.

Issue presented itself on 12.16.22, and has been operating as programmed since.

Got it. Ok, good to hear. I did try deleting and recreating my driver profile a few weeks back. Now that I'm on 7/2022.58 I'll try again.

I followed your steps and it did not resolve the issue for me. The steering wheel fails to move or only partially moves about 50% of the time I start the car.
Last week I left car with service. They replicated, but couldn't find any specific errors when scanning the car. As a first step they loaded 11/2022.63 and tested again. They claim the issue did not persist after programming. I picked up the car and within one day the issue presented itself again. Again, I completely blew out the driver profile and setup again. Within 4 starts of the car, same issue again. Ho hum.

Dealer said likely next step is to replace the module that controls this function. I still believe it's a software bug that either BMW hasn't discovered or hasn't got around to fixing.... Slightly annoying.

Yeah I’ve noticed this as well. I just push the Memory Seat 1 button and it fixes it.

Quick update to the thread. Although I stated no issues earlier in it that was not true as I never realized it wasn't going into my actual saved position but rather slightly lower. All I did to resolve was just press seat #1 button and nothing changed except for the steering wheel going to the proper position. I didn't try messing with the profile, etc. as not a big enough issue to go through the hassle and only did the work around when I was going on a drive that would include DAP full assist so the LIDAR camera in the instrument cluster could see my eyes.

Happy to report that since the dealer upgraded my iD to 07/2023.33 due to the OTA failures the steering wheel memory function works flawlessly. So my strong suspicion is a bug in the older releases.

Good to hear. My car is at dealer now for maintenance, and once again, this issue. They should be reprogramming my car so I'm hopeful I have the same luck as you. Thanks for the update.

Update after 5 days with my car back and 7/2023.33 iStep. Steering wheel did not drop into position once since the new software was installed. I'll keep an eye on it. Dealer tells me next step is to replace the module controlling this function.
