They wouldn't release info on the cat converter, just stating that it's proprietary and it's available for sale for a higher price. I'm thinking.. Chinese cat converter.

I did order the dp so I'll check when it arrives.

I spoke with the CEO today. We had a bit long chitchat. Their pipes are made in Romania, they also unlock ECUs and can get a bm3 tunes but you have to ship it to them which I really don't wanna do. I spoke with my buddy tho I think I'll go with a different brand that will fit better than rvg

You're hearing they don't fit well? I was more concerned about the technical part, the cat. There's not much room to innovate the pipe shape.

Unfortunately my friend had to pay for the labor at bmw twice because they sent him the wrong ones that wasn't sealed good.
I don't want to risk it. They might send you the right ones from the first try tho (I hope)

Ok so the flanges didn't meet up well/pipes didn't align. Got it.

How much are you all paying for downpipes install? I was quoted $3800 from a bmw specialist
shop, stating that they have to drop the subframe, and 2 days work. That seems outrageous.

You should find a different dealership! Mine quoted me 2.5k before taxes which isn't great but I'd rather be safe than sorry

I found a place for 700.

The heat shield coated pipes are off getting 1800F ceramic coating. Hopefully they fit. I was assured they are tested before going out.

What state are you from? I was planning to ceramic coat the whole body myself before winter just didn't decide what brand I'll go with.
They might have corrected their design issue after the incident my friend had with their catted ones. Good luck my friend! Keep us posted

I'm in north NJ. Just did a track day today so and temps were high. I'll heat treat with Cerakote 2000f on a s63 manifold and put them in too along with the downpipe
I don't think this has been done yet but we'll see.

Wow, that’s insane… very reputable garage changed my primaries and secondaries for £370… I’ve noticed there’s a massive difference in cost of mabour between the UK and US

I went with the RVG. I didn't want open dp. I think that makes sense on a dedicated track car, not on the machines.

The pipes are still awaiting heat coating. The guy was like like they'll be ready in 3 days then I drop them off and 3 days later he is saying he has to order more material...so I should have them back next week and then the following for the install (and tune).

This is bad... I guess I'll get the other pair and stay away from RVG! Sorry about that bud. Did bmw fix them to fit or some other shop did?

My shop had to make custom brackets to make the mounting points work. The m850 may have slightly different brackets but I doubt it. I think RVG is just incompetent. Before I ordered I confirmed that this is for a m850 and I heard they had issues with fit in the past and I was assured that they would fit, that every unit is tested in a jig. Pure lies so yeah, stay away.
