M8 Extended Warranty for Tuned Cars

I’m in Arizona and recently bought a 2021 M8 GC Comp that I will be adding a Carbahn Stage 2 tune to. My car is still under factory warranty but that will likely be voided once I tune it if I have a problem that BMW can blame on it. So I started looking for a warranty that is bumper to bumper and covers tunes not knowing if one existed.

I searched the forums and found
epicaccord (Ben) and reached out to him for a quote. Not only can he offer warranties for cars with tunes from a franchise BMW dealership but he can offer them at by far the best pricing I found.

He was great to work with, I was able to sign by DocuSign and it took about 10 minutes.

I don’t see these services offered in the forum or anywhere else so I wanted to let anyone know who’s in my position how to cut straight to the best coverage at the best price.

Reach out to Ben direct to get a quote epicaccord **************

Appreciate the post. Yes, my referral Ben at the BMW dealership offers BMW warranties and other warranties if tunes or modifications are involved. His prices really can't be beat. One suggestion I would make to potential clients to save time is to have all your homework done and actual BMW dealership quotes ready to go, so he can beat the prices. I don't think he gives out quotes so he can be shopped around. Be ready to buy when you call him, with legit BMW quotes in hand and he'll beat it for sure.

What company does his warranties come from? Like which aftermarket company provider did you get for your coverage? I'd like to read some fine print etc.

Excellent timing, I posted something yesterday saying my dealer told me I couldn't do anything without voiding my CPO. If anyone else tries this I'd like to hear how it goes.

Id love to see the legal verbiage here... Vehicle Service Contracts aka used car warranties are exclusionary in nature unlike an factory warranty. They limit what they WILL cover and NOT cover for obvious reasons.

Warranties come on new items while VSCs come on used items... not calling out the OP but can you post your fine print here? Ive read the likes of Carbahn's so called coverage and its highly subjective in nature. They clearly have discretion on coverage of any claim.

What happened to Pay to Play"? My car is heavily modified. It's a choice I made, and knew going in that someday I might have to deal with an issue that the service guys can point to and say "it's because it's not factory spec".

Do I understand this correctly? You want to change something on your car mechanically beyond factory specs and then you want to insure that this change will be covered if it fails?

Devils advocate here: If I sold you a product and you changed it, then it broke, and you then came to me wanting me to replace it or fix it I would be like "yeah right".

If it makes one feel better having it insured so be it. But I would consider not doing the mod if that was part of the equation.
For example-
My point being: Go to the ROUSH Performance Engine site and read what's not covered when you buy one of their engines. Pretty much says don't change anything.

Not meaning to sound like an ass here, just adding my opinion.

Luckily there's 1 warranty company in the USA sold by a franchise BMW who will bear that risk at the moment. So you can have your cake and eat it too. 😋

You can ask the forum members who purchased from him of it's suspect. There's plenty of posts here from satisfied clients, including myself. He sold it to me and I made a claim already. It was taken care of no problems.

I think he said that when he used to give out quotes, most people never returned to buy so he wasted a lot of his time. Remember, he has a full time job as a Finance Manager at BMW and doesnt have time for low ballers, "tire kickers", day dreamers, and flakers lol 🤣 thats why he wants to be the last look when forum members are 100% ready to buy right now. He tells forum members to have their best quote, do their shopping elsewhere from a BMW dealership that they want beat right then and there. Win-win for both parties. Customer gets best price ever, he secures a small sale.

If you want the BEST price from a BMW dealership and ready to buy right then and there, thats when you should contact him.. simple as that.

Of course they will not give out these details, it seems all hush hush. Like I said, suspect.

Sorry I havent been active since I posted about the warranty. Busy making money to afford my car I guess.

If you're curious about the warranty and cost, reach out directly to epicaccord.

If you have questions for me, feel free to PM and Ill try to watch the forums more often.

I think he said that when he used to give out quotes, most people never returned to buy so a lost of wasted time. I'm interested given I have an M8 convertible on the way. I get you're saying he'll beat the warranty price from my dealer, but I doubt my dealership offers warranties for tuned/modified cars. So when I get quote from them it's a quote for a non modified car, so it's hard to imagine a quote for a modded car warranty being able to beat a quote for a non-mod warranty. Am I missing something here?

It doesn't sound like an actual warranty...... More like car insurance but for the stuff that breaks..... Meaning as long as the company that provides the service agrees to current state of the car with or without modifications they will cover things. But that is were the fine print really comes in most of the places you see on TV and stuff don't actually cover very much for the cost..... It does sound like though this one might be a one time thing not a monthly fee like most of the new ones. But we will never know there is zero information posted in the post regarding the "warranty" itself.

Yep, the $M dollar question, i.e., a true extended warranty (and to Vic55's point still devil in the details) or some sort of insurance policy. Guessing the latter vs the former as getting an extended warranty regardless of the caveats of what is covered vs not is a higher hurdle than some sort of an insurance package.

Case-in-point if even it is say a BMW Platinum package the same caveats would apply as just the straight up original manufacturer 4yr/50K warranty. Mod it and you're at risk unless you have a friendly SA willing to turn a blind eye.
