Clicking noise from rear driver side...dealer says it's normal for rear differential?

I have my car at the dealer to get new tires put on and also because I can hear a clicking sound from the rear driver side as the tire rotates (I can only hear it if my window is down and it's very quiet). I figured maybe I just had a large rock stuffed in one of my tires and that was making the noise as the wheel rotated and the rock was hitting the pavement.

The dealer is saying this is just normal due to the rear differential. Anyone else heard heard this?

Have them check your flex disc's. Mine would get a click sound and turned out the flex plates were severely cracked.

Hello,

I have the same problem with my 840d.
Exactly the same problem!
I thought it can be the bearings…

What do you think about?

Someone else has these problem?

Someone has solved?

This is not normal and I think you might be spot on a rock where it shouldn't be sitting.... Keep us posted on what you find.

Flex disc, the big rubber bushing that connects the drive shaft to drivetrain. It's easy one to check with the car in the air.

They changed tires and I don’t hear it anymore. Turns out I had a nail in my rear tire so I bet it was that….

I have the same issue actually. I only notice it going up the apartment garage and only happens sometimes.

Maybe make sure nothing is sticking in your tire…
