Soundaktor it is, and unlike the stupid BMW setup that pipes fake sound into your amp and out with your music, the Soundaktor is a mechanical device that's installed on the firewall, and resonates through the windshield. It actually sounds pretty good - like actual induction noise. A lot of people disable it but I don't mind it at all in my R. The BMW crap on the other hand was disabled the day I got my M2c home last year.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why they are popular amongst thieves in certain countries when you can do faster and better. There are articles where a Mercedes, Bentley, Ferrari were ignored for a GTI. Hopefully this is still on topic as part of reviewing the car’s security. Thanks
