Hi all,

I traded in my 2016 750i and I'm in the market for an M4 comp or M850i. I was looking at the 21/22 model w/ 10-15k mileage used M850i. I've had painful stories with the N63TU2 (I enjoyed driving it when the engine light wasn't on), but I've heard the TU3 is like a completely new machine. How's the reliability of the 21/22 TU3? Has anyone had any issues with the M850 (other mechanics, water pump etc)?

2022 M850. Zero issues - with anything. Runs as good as Day1 still.

Different car but same engine - 2020 M550 with the TU3. Only issue is had to replace the coolant expansion tank. Otherwise it’s been great. 37,000 miles. If you want more feedback, the M550 guys on the 5 series board have a thread dedicated to issues (there isn’t much to report) and there are a lot there that would be happy to chime in on reliability of the TU3 in those cars.
