Yes there are some differences between US and Euro models and that is certainly one of them (Tire & Cooling package). And probably there are others if you compare the configurators in details.
Check it out you'll enjoy it

Wow - First time seeing the Maxton design parts on the 8 series! They look great. What do you think of the fitment and quality? Do you have any more pics?

Thanks

Another European Sunset owner - and a potential Autobahn buddy!

Mine is tuned (729bhp), heavily coded, and I too am also about to have the rear 'grey bit' done in gloss black - it looks awesome.

See you on the roads!

I'm contemplating a trip to the Nurburgring, just to tick it off my bucket list, so will let you know when I work out the date (probably October).

You'll want to check out that episode on the Grand Tour as well.

Thanks yes I really like the color and the fact that there aren't many around like this. Further, I always had darker colors on my previous BMWs (black, blue, boston green etc.) so I desired something different for this one.
The Individual option high-gloss Shadow-Line (S7M9A) retrofit will be performed very soon. I have the appointment at a German BMW dealer at the end of this month. Yes, that includes the complete package - black front grill, trims air duct side panels left & right and the trim exhaust tail pipe left & right.
Nice! Great taste!

Sweet. It's going to be a sad day when those guys are no longer doing the show, as they're down to just specials only now which covid has delayed.

I did not want it all in carbon back down there to begin with and given the color of my car I am convinced that high glossy black looks slicker and matches the overall paint better while still harmonizing with the exterior carbon package. The dealer I got mine from is a non-BMW one and they had it done through a trusted 3rd party paintshop also in the area and to which the same dealer brings Astons, Lambos, AMGs, Porsches and other very expensive cars for any needed paintwork. Yesterday I had my detailer check this and he confirmed they have done a great job with it and that it looks spotless.
That's a great "add" for extra sweetener to the deal. Given the debacle of my 2nd build my dealer picked up the Cerium delete on their dime plus I got them to throw in $500 of credit in their BMW store (used it to pick up a few goodies, e.g., key fob cases, coffee mugs, a jacket for the wife, golf club covers, etc.).

My dealer is part of the Penske Automotive group and their collision/repair shop is phenomenal based on my experience with my wife's X5 and a buddies with his M5C. Plus, they service the entire line of Penske brands including Bentley, Porsche and Lambo here in Scottsdale so I'll get a quote from them on painting the greyish abomination in gloss black.

Thanks and it's good to hear you too got something extra for your money! We (customers) spend much on these machines and I think in most cases those dealers have great margins on them so that something can be given back in return thus making us even happier and get out with a bigger smile on our faces despite the big financial sacrifice that this may represent (for some more, for others less).

Just got back from 2 days Germany and it was lots of fun being the first longer trip with the M850i. Loved it in all respects. Car is amazing no matter what speed you drive I am ecstatic still. Of course the trip also served a purpose other than just a mini vacation. Planned and carried out retrofits include:

Individual option high-gloss Shadow-Line(S7M9A) complete
retrofit – grill front, trims air duct side panels left & right, trim
exhaust tail pipe left & right

BMW LED door projectors
BMW luggage compartment light LED
BMW M Performance Fuel Filler Cap Cover Carbon
ECU Tuning Stage 1 JD Performance

Though it wasn't "ugly", I am glad I got rid of the cerium elements in favor of the extended high glossy black. Page 1 updated (in bold the completed retrofits).

Up next probably M8 spoiler and S358 Climate comfort windscreen.
I am also looking for a decent (not too racy) front lip to replace the cheap rubber factory one. Suggestions are welcome.

Oh man that looks great!! Which of the S7M9A were part replacements and which were painted parts? It looks like the exhaust trim rectangles are black and I never found those in gloss black.

Hi Saunders, thanks.

The G16 (which you have) shares the same part numbers as far as the trim (glossy black) tail pipes elements are concerned. These are the ones you need and yes they can be bought individually.

I retrofitted the complete extended package S7M9A as per BMW factory option. Here is a printscreen of all part numbers:

The only part that was painted previously is the upper bumper trim just above the diffusor carbon part, which is originally grey from factory.

So to summarize using the exploded image above, in the rear, you did this?
1. Painted #8 (51128075300)
2. Added #10 Carbon Fiber (51128074817)
3. Added #11's Glossy Black (51128093899 & 51128093900)

Nr. 8 what you see in glossy black above the carbon diffuser part had been painted (as per my request) before getting the car. Normally this is standard grey and is not part of the extended high gloss shadowline package. What I added yesterday were the two glossy black tailpipe tips (51128093899 & 51128093900). Part Nr. 10 was already onboard and is part of the exterior carbon package.

Nice you got the dealership to do that!

This is the CF retrofit kit I've been looking at...

Hi Saunders, great idea and it's going to enhance the slickness (already high) of your car. I personally use and prefer ETK but realoem works great too for looking up parts.

https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...iX/USA/03_4935

Are you planning to retrofit the entire CF Package or just the listed part number you highlighted - 51128074817?

At the moment, I'm strictly looking at the rear end components so it would be 51128074817 and then paint the gray part and order the glossy black exhaust rings (left & right).

Sounds like a great plan and definitely an enhancement!
