Man you took the words right out of my mouth. I don't see the appeal of this car as it's just an updated 6 series. I'm sure it drives well but designwise it has nothing on the S class coupe or the Audi R8. I'm having a hard time with BMW's latest designs, apart from the new 5er everything is just slabby and Lexus like. Adrian Von whatever needs to be relieved of his design duties and Chris Bangle needs to be rehired.

What is going on with BMW? What is this design... The rear roof slope/angle is horrible, the rear windshield is like 2 miles long. The tail lights are Lexus design, the rear quarters are fat and not sculpted at all. If the 8 series is going to look like a pig at least make it stand out, like the S-class coupe.

I think the 850 of the 90s was a special car for the time, I don't think the 850 of today hold's that same appeal. I think the 90s 850 should be a classic like the z8, but for some reason they did not do as well.

BMW knows how to make a good looking car but there's no way they can justify the price for this design. This thing is priced near the AMG GT, 911 GTS, LC500, etc. and looks nowhere near as special/unique.

The new 8 IS the updated 6 series. The 6 series is no longer BMW's large coupe. It will only be the 5er GT platform.
