Not true unless they nerfed it on the 2021+ years (if memory serves you have a 2020). Granted even the 2020s may have changed as my build is 10/2019 and the 2019s run hot. The nerf may have come with the ECU shift in June 2020 in which they all started being "locked".

That said try Sport Individual with the engine on Sport Plus, transmission on your setting of choice but Sport is the most balanced and chassis once again on your preference but I run "comfort" due to crappy local roads.

Also, follow the instructions on how to disable the flaps as well as ASD via pulling two fuses. Once done ASD is out of the picture unless in "reduced" as that will impact the ECU fuel mixture although it can't touch the flaps. Cold start in Comfort or pressing Sport Individual are basically the same, i.e., loud as hell once the flaps are permanently open.

As posted on that thread, "sporty" is useless as long as one sets "depends on drive mode". I've never even bothered to use Bimmercode to set the car to always start in Sport Individual as it's the 1st button I push (Sport which remembers your last setting or toggles) before starting the car. As stated however testing Sport Individual vs default comfort mode (in the car and via remote start) there are zero differences once the flaps are permanently open.
The sport engine sound setting in the iDrive works in all driving modes, I've posted a video on the exhaust sound a while back when cold starting the car. With this feature there is no need to remove any fuses to keep the flaps open.

Keep us posted once you upgrade to .50 if the sport engine sounds setting is gone. My car is ready to upgrade but I'm hesitant to do that until I confirm with someone "brave" :-) that the feature is still available as I don't want to lose that great sound on the engine start!

11/2023.50 downloaded on my iPhone and uploaded to the car without me noticing...

The iDrive is advising that the new software is ready to install. I have not hit install yet... Is there a way for me to cancel this install as I don't want to run it? And, don't want to see the software read to install message every time I enter the car! My worry at next oil change the dealer tech might hit install.

As long as I get my burbles and pops when in Sport+ mode, I don't care. With my incoming new exhaust, I still want my burbles and pops

Could you please confirm if you still have the Sport Engine start option available in iDrive.

My car just finished upgrading to 11/2023.50 and I can confirm the "sporty" feature still exists in the iDrive. The only thing I had to do is reselect the sporty option from the menu after the install was completed as per attached image.

BMW engineers are funny, the B8 should be the car to have this feature with your 612 HP/590T... Bizarre...

Anyone know (or know how to find out) what specific changes are included for F92 (2023 M8 Competition Coupe)? The release notes are quite vague, and I can't find anything more specific from Google search. Thanks in advance!

I did the upgrade yesterday. Haven't noticed any changes yet. Had to redo bimmercode settings but my by anti-dazzle (US vehicle) still remained. The last time I had it coded by Bimmer Remote they said the anti-Dazzle mod would be permanent and so far it's survided 03/2023.5 and 11/2023.5

Not sure why your M8 got quieter... My M850 is still as loud as hell when I start the engine and in sport plus it's louder with the cracks/pops present.

I have a feeling BMW did something mechanically to the 2024 8 series and it has nothing to do with the software update.

This release shouldn't be a big one as BMW went from 11/2023.30 from few months ago to 11/2023.50. The small change in the release number .30-.50 represent a minor big fixes... Usually that's the case with software BUT that being said, you never know with BMW these days!

What settings have you changed with Bimmercode on your M850? Same here, not much change other than noticing the auto start feature is off which I probably need to configure in the iDrive.

It should be "permanent" since anti dazzle is done through VO coding which survives a RSU iStep upgrade. And it would typically survive a dealer iStep upgrade as well. However, there are situations where a dealer may program a car and take the Vehicle Options from the ISTA database. If this occurs you would lose anti dazzle. I wouldn't spend much time worrying about it. It's an unlikely scenario which requires the dealer to take the Vehicle Options from ISTA.

Good luck changing the auto start/stop setting. BMW has locked us out since the 3/2023.xx versions. Maybe one day Binmercode will figure out a work around.

Do you know that jhill has 11/2023.30?

March, July and November of each year BMW releases new "major" releases. Sometimes new features are released, sometimes only bug fixes.

.xx is the build of the specific release. Generally these .xx releases contain smaller changes/fixes but sometimes those fixes can be important in some situations.

Then this is a sizable upgrade for you. Quite a few Driver Assist function updates in the July 2023 version that were further refined in November.
And I find a lot of improvements with both Car play and Android Auto in July and November. That's my view on this.
