New AMG GT Leaks

I have the race chip black on my M8 Comp. The thing is so fast that for me it's all I need.
This beast goes from nothing to 60mph in next to no time. A second or two later your doing 80 or 90mph. Well into ugly ticket territory.
If that isn't enough for the street then your driving on the wrong road. Go to a track and go all out.

But i like the bottom its there and says this car is badass (looking) and its not excessively high or does it take away from the rear lines that are vastly improved over the SL.

A guy thing I think. My first SL question was about turning off top. Guessing GT has same steering wheel button for me. LOL

nah its an optics thing

I have a 992 GTS with the retractable wing which I love but if I get a 992 GT3, Im a wing guy over touring.

The car looks proper and has a great stance.

There will be the ePerformance model with 800hp but the base 63 will already be a touch below 3sec as is.

Not a huge fan of the Black Series grill look although this wouldn’t be a deal breaker. The car is nicely shaped throughout and looks great with the wing.

What’s not so good is the 700lbs weight gain over the last model which puts it well into the M8 weight category…

I also preferred the old models transaxle/front-mid engine layout and the Dual Clutch over the standard 9 speed MCT connected directly to the front engine.

Definitely top. I’m not tracking my cars so don’t need extra downforce. But I’ll take the help of an effective spoiler with lower lift and reduced drag benefits all day, every day.

Plus retractable spoilers look better and cooler imo. Not saying that wings cannot look good, they do on some cars. But on other cars….well, the kids will like them

Okay so back end looks better than current AMG GTs, and the 4matic plus should make it a major player.

AMG doesn't handle excess weight all that well when it comes to driving dynamics and comfort so I'm going to guess the increased weight will result in a more teeth chattering ride quality. Which then means more time at the dealership in the first 2 years of ownership chasing rattles and squeaks (little PTSD on my part lol).

Overall better looking car than previous Gen. Better placement for sales, hopefully, underrated HP or will be relatively slower.

Agreed as called out it is a rarity in which I like the look of a wing on a car but in this case AMG got it right. 👍

yes sir, its not shopping cart style ...

Im glad the car has AWD too vs my old AMG GTS (Edition 1) and while that car had reasonable grip it still was not a sub 3 second ripper on a daily basis. The offset in weight is the advanced drive system but Ill have to drive it first for sure. No way is Benz on my radar right now unless the driving dynamics advance over M plus the MCT is a step back vs the DCT in my GTS.

Not sure what to make of this as can't find any other sources with a similar announcement but it's from 8/17 so doubt it's in reference to the predecessor GT black series but rather the 2024.
