My dealer ordered the black grill part and I had it swapped with my PPF install.

But looks pretty easy:

Thanks man, does your car come with the front camera? They didnt have that in the video, wondering how hard to move that, i think most black grills you get now have the hole for the camera in later models.

Just a guess but I expect all 8-series come with the front camera now that BMW got rid of the watered down ZDX base Driving Assistant package in early 2021. Plus one would expect a B8 to be loaded by design but haven't checked the options.

It comes out one way goes in one way, just clipped into the grill.

Does anyone know if you can put the M Performance Skirts on the Alpina B8? I ask cause well, i plan to do something unique and no not carbon fiber galor, might keep them gloss black as there is options out there but wanted to make some suttle changes to the B8 to make it unique but classy.

Any input would be great.

RIDDLE SOLVED! The reason that both the MSport and the Alpina wheels show up on the build sheet is that when BMW manufactures the car, it leaves the factory with MSport wheels (as in the photo). Apparently it rolls better that way.

When Alpina remanufactures the car, it leaves their factory with Alpina wheels. Not sure how they return the Msports, but there it is. The car really does get BOTH sets of wheels, but only the Alpina wheels are delivered to the customer. (info courtesy of my sales rep)

If you technically paid for them, ask for them. It looks much better to me but this is apparently a contentious point of 'Alpina' view.

The extra ones that the Alpina rolled out on? Or the black Alpina wheels not available on the US market?

Former.

I'm becoming more 'agreeable' with the Alpina design and concept but not the wheels.

I hear ya. Was really tempted to order an Alpina as my next car after 2 F90s. With the cost of money ratcheting up quickly, long ordering times and the BMW price increase, it made my jump to my M850 a no brainer for now.

Yes the only bad part of an Alpina are the those bespoke wheels they use. Yack!
I've seen them look sort of ok on some Alpina's but mostly they are ugly imo.
SO MANY nicer wheels available that look SO MUCH better. OPT out if you can.
although aren't they 21's? That would be nice....but not in that design.
Ya maybe powered black would help them....maybe. Just cuz their tradition doesn't make em nice. Maybe 40 years ago we were impressed but not anymore. Too many better choices now.

Brake Rotor Questions for the B8

1. Does anyone know why the Rear Rotor on the new B8 is bigger than the front? Cant understand the logic there, isn't like 60-80% of stopping power in the front?

395-mm front and 398-mm rear.. Was just curious if anyone knew the reasoning..

2. Does anyone actually know the part numbers for both front and rear sets? Long story, but working on something unique on my end, will have to show you later. I've looked high and low, no help or info from 2022 or even now.

Does anyone have a 2023 B8 gran coupe vin I can use for looking for some parts ? I'm trying to locate replacement rotors for the front and rear but all dealers or parts places online want a vin.

I'm still waiting for my vin to be produced.

Thank you in advance

Joe
